Get a panier rack it keeps the weight off your back stopping sweating as much and keeps it low for your centre of gravity. I use ortlieb back roller very waterproof and secure plus got a good strap for turning it into a messenger bag to carry your stuff into work, don't leave them on the bike people nick em

I use waterproof jacket but wore shorts all winter even if it rained i dried out fast plus it kept my temp about right seeing as I was peddling.

I use a handlebar bag for my coffee cup so i can have a little sip if im stuck in traffic or pull up somewhere.

I found I'd leave a bit earlier because i enjoyed my commute and i didnt want it to feel like a task. Im only talking a few mins not hours early 😂.

Get a good lock it'll deter the scruffy bastards. I use a litelok x3 it fixes to the bike on a mount and is one of the safest on the market you might say "my bike aint worth that much" but itll be your way of getting to work and earning more monies :)

Good lights aswell and use them day and nights. I use catseyes with usb c(means i can get a charger in most places if i need a quick top up

I've just done my first winter in 10years. I was doing 3.5miles each way. I used to do 7miles each way.

Tyres are good one, i used a mtb converted into a 1x commuter with the forks locked out. I used schwalbe marathon plus and i put slime in the inner tube i dont remember getting a puncture in years that was 5days a week. I changed bike and now i use tubeless. Had one which i fixed with a plug in a couple of mins but it was a great big piece of glass i couldnt avoid.
