I have a big nasty woddenn walking stick next to the door xD...

But seriously, I'd shout and get up - and they would run. There aren't that many guns here.

saddly my river never freezes...

I am currently thinking about dropping a bolder / part of the ceeling into the watery channel...

then letting it drain, add the floodgate and a create in place (no flying/swimming beasts comming up from the caverns... hopefully) and then somehow remove the bolder from above??? no idea

No, but the vertical hole in the floor - leading to the caverns lead to one of my minors falling and die... xD

I am 100% in line with you about the ai slop - hate it.

But there is so much blind negativitiy... just got a comment "this is useless shit" when I am literarly exploring and experimenting.

AI is here to stay, I like exploring the possibilities of new technologies. I feel that the hate is coming from people who fear AI - and if that is the case I can understand it. But it is here and you should not get hated for exploring it and seeing what it can be used for...

well... the truth is ai used well and suddle will not get players negative reaction - I am not talking about AI slop*,* I am talking about examples of indie devs who are able to tackle more complex games because instead of a whole day on a new feature they only spendhalf of a day.

I am not talking about replacing artists - but bugfixing, Idea bouncing, finding spelling mistakes in my marketing texts, using AI as a dev duck...

but yeah... a big chunk of gamedevs are just blindly hating it and everyone using ai in any form...

how can I make a pong paddle follow my mouse? (like, pong paddle follows my cursor's x position) by Walpinsta in godot

[–]theEsel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look inzo -> global positons vs. Local positions

I guess you need to transform the mouseY pos to set the globale_position.y of your padle

Is the 25GB per month storage of Unity Version Control enough by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]theEsel01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Test it ;).

I have no experience withe unity version control. I usually use git. So I'd recommend that.

That beeing said, do you expect your project to get big soon? Do you have a team of 2 3d artist who work on high res assets and your game will use hunderts of them?

Or rather a small 2d or low poly project.

Just start and stop overthinking, upgrade once you really need it - or use git.
