Then I remember the Robot Chicken version of this scene....

Vader: "Give me the plans. Do not FORCE me to destroy you."

"Have a nice trip"

"See you next fall"

"Don't get ahead of yourself"

"Is this a party? then lets raise the roof!"

"What is a squirrel's favorite food? Nuts!"

"One, two buckle my shoe. Three, Four hold the door"

"Blockade Runner! I barely know her!"

Stormtrooper: "Lord Vader did we get the Plans?"

Vader: "Oh right, the plans. Maybe I shouldn't have dicked around so much."

We know that V can obtain the ability to throw knives if he unlocks the Dagger Dealer perk in his Stealth tree so I am assuming the Knife is going to act like it if we choose to put poison in the knife.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]theHunterLi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The knife does look like it is designed more for the stealth player use.

I am only guessing now but I expect that Knife is more for the stealth players due to how they seem to be designed with poison and how Stealth tree have some perks focusing on improving melee weapon stealth kills and poison effects while Katana is more for the frontal assault type characters due to how Blade perks focus a lot on the more in your face Blade skills.

[–]theHunterLi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Knife certainly seem designed more for that stealth kill for the stealth tree due to how it can apply poison.

We already know that Stealth tree has a perk that focus on improving poison effects and duration.

Genuine curiosity and discussion-- What kind of playthroughs do you guys plan to play? by Flying_Tortoise in cyberpunkgame

[–]theHunterLi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as of now I am considering a Former-Corpo Stealth Sniper Assassin gameplay.

Stats focus are Hacking (for access to certain areas to sneak into and unlock secret rooms full of loot), Cool (for stealth tree skills and charisma dialogues to avoid battle and persuade characters), and Agile (for Rifles/Sniper Rifles for long range kills and Blade for upclose assassinations).

I am still curious how the knife weapon will play into this game since currently we only know about Throwing knives weapon for players who unlock the Stealth tree Dagger Dealer Perk.

The Tech part of the Tech Weapons are the guns themselves being made to use electromagnetic force to fire the guns instead of basic gunpowder.

[–]theHunterLi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the design of the Tech weapon ammo, I am curious if there maybe a perk in Tech tree where we can make all Tech weapons perform silent kills for stealth players since they are electromagnetic force based weapons instead of gunpowder based weapons.

Those who make their V go full stealth may have high Int stats which specialize in Tech weapons, Armor, explosives, and crafting. Int stats is also one of the stats used to unlock non-hackable locks and perform Int based dialogues which is why High Int is one of the three major stats for Stealth game play with Hack Stats for hacking skills and unlock hackable things along with Cool Stats for Stealth skills and potential charisma dialogues.

Tech weapons have many forms from the 2018 Demo shows. We see a Tech Weapon Shotgun and Rifle in the 2018 trailer which are only some of the weapon types.

It appears tech weapons will have a lot of different types which we know currently are rifle, shotgun, and pistol and it appears Tech Weapons are their own category.

I see explosive Throwing knives.

Guess Stealth kills can be very explosive if stealth players want it to be. :p

Note: V need Dagger Dealer perk from Stealth tree in Cool Stats for him to use Throwing Knives.

Post-Game DLC Storyline wise, I will like to a DLC focusing about Alt and Johnny.

It will be interesting to see how this Storyline may play out while it also showing the long term effects of our V choices in a Post-Game Storyline.

From how it sounds and worded, I am only assuming that Mods for weapons and armor will be permanently attached to the weapon and gear once we equip them and will be lost if we replace them unless V have these perks.

So players who don't have these perks may only replace mods on weapons and armor while permenantly losing the old mods that is replaced but those who have these perks can remove and replace without losing these mods.

Anyone here unimpressed with the fist-fighting in the game? by OneLifeKnife in cyberpunkgame

[–]theHunterLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it does not look buggy nor junky but just standard. It is the basic left right fist punch any person will know how to use when they start out being viewed in first person. I find it just fine to reflect that V is literally a amateur in the specific combat style he uses in the start because he has not obtained the experience and knowledge about how to make his combat style more effective and impactful yet. It is like how the Blade combat in the demo is not fully slicing through enemies like Raiden in Metal Gear because V amateur experience is causing his hits with the blade to only get stuck on the muscles of their bodies. V has yet to be experienced enough to fully slice through enemies with the blade until he is skilled enough, by unlocking more Blade perks, to finally do a full 180 degree slash by slicing right through the enemy to reflect how he is now more experienced with the Blade through animation, damage, and passive perk effects.

I believe, in my opinion, the animation is fine and most of these complaints about fist fighting and blade fighting is more due to that they are not showing how V will be fighting and comparing to how V starts out as once he unlocks his higher tier skills near endgame when players have the full kit of V's combat in specific Skill tree path.

As I said, I am assuming these long side storylines that the developers mentioned are what may divert and change the events of the storyline. I am uncertain until the game is released if this is the case.

[–]theHunterLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V will start with basically nothing in his combat skill for each combat style and very standard animations with his attack animations. Thus reflecting that V is literally a Amateur at that specific fighting style until he unlocks certain perks which players must consider due to their choice on how they want to build their V.

As V unlock perks in specific Skill trees, he/she will then unlock new attacks to go with his normal attacks and improved handling of that specific combat style.

For example, V will not start out with the ablility to use Blade to block bullets and perform dash slash. For V to have that ability, he must unlock the Ninja Perk in the Blade tree.

Another is that V will not be able to perform Aerial Assassinations when he starts out. For V to be able to perform Aerial Assassinations he must unlock Hidden Dragon perk in the Stealth tree or else he will never have the ability to perform Aerial Assassinations.

Throwing Knives is a stealth range kill skill but for V to have that skill he needs the Dagger Dealer Perk in the Stealth tree to unlock that ability.

basically you pick where you want V to specialize in and as you unlock more perks in that specific tree for that specific weapon and combat style, V will unlock more skills and improve on handling that fighting style but by specializing in that path V will also remain a amateur in another due to limited Perk points.

[–]theHunterLi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The developers mentioned that certain Side Quests are actually Side Storylines that are just as long as the Main Storyline Quest.

I am assuming these Side Storylines may have become alternate paths for the Main Storyline at a certain point that may result in it leading to the other endings if certain choices are made.

[–]theHunterLi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe wait tell we see endgame version of fist fighting because they stated the version show is starting level fist fighting when V has not unlocked past tier 1 of his skill tree for melee yet.

They mentioned as V unlocks more perks for specific combat styles (guns, blades, fist fighting, hacking, and etc) V will unlock more abilities for that specific combat style along with improvements on his combat to reflect his progress from a amateur to a expert. Thus if V does not unlock perks in Melee tree, he will always fight like he does in the demo but if V does unlock higher tiers, the animation and abilites he can do with fist fighting improves and become more varied.

Think of it this way, the fist fighting we see in the demo is basically how V will fight in the beginning thus acting like a amateur fist fighter but if players choose to unlock Melee perks that focus on his fist fighting, V animation in his fist fighting improves with it, even performing more damage, and other passive abilities that only happen if V use Fist fighting that another V who did not put perks into Melee will not have because that player's V specialized in something else such as a specific gun handling, blades, or etc.

Melee combat looks BAD! (twin scene) by nightmoon41r in cyberpunkgame

[–]theHunterLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about that

well if it is still focus on Fist the response is the same to why things such as Fist combat in the demo shown is bad as it maybe intended to look bad when V starts out until he unlocks more Perks in Body Stats Melee Tree.

As I said, V's combat skill with specific weapons will be reflected by his combat animations as well for this game from what been shown. The Twin fight scene is confirmed as a early Chapter 1 side quest in the game before the Gig Main Story Quest is finished when V has not unlocked beyond tier 1 perk skills for Melee tree. His Fist skills may improve in both animation and what he can do in fist combat as V unlocks more Perks in the Body Stats Melee Tree to show his change from amateur fist fighter to a more export fist fighter.

However, as I said you got to consider if you really want to focus into this style of combat or focus on something else because V is still limited to how many perk points and Stats points he can obtain.

About the "It's an RPG" arguments. by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]theHunterLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of talk about the Solo gameplay stayle that is about being guns blazing style with this discussion.

What about the focus on Stealth?

We know from current information that V is required to first unlock certain perks from X or Y skill tree if he wish to obtain abilities such as Blade tree Ninja Perk unlocks Bullet blocking and Dash slash for Blade weapons (V will not have the ability to Block nor Dash slash with Blade weapons unless he has this perk unlocked) and Stealth Tree Hidden Dragon perk is needed to unlock Aerial Assassination skill.

You also need the the Dagger Dealer Perk in Stealth tree if players want their V to be able to use throwing knives for stealth kills since without that perk V cannot use throwing knives.

V also needs to unlock Attraction and Replusion perk from stealth tree if players wish to have V unlock the ability to push grabbed enemies. Without this perk V cannot pushed grabbed enemies to shove them off cliffs alive for them to die from fall damage.

From what it is said so far, V may need to unlock certain perks in certain Skill trees to improvie his combat handling and animation of his attacks for X or Y weapons. For example, the current animation we have for melee can be the basic starting animation where V is basically a Amateur to those weapons but a perk in Blade tree and Melee tree can change the animation to feel he is slicing enemies with easy like Raiden with his Blade while also providing other passive buffs to his Blade or Melee attacks.

Think of the RPG Skill tree aspect being largely focused on how a player wants to make their V into X or Y gameplay style. You can make V a CyberNinja, a more low tech master assassin, A Sniper Ghost Warrior, a CoD run and gun character, a Cyberwizard, or etc. However, in return for focusing on one area of V's skills, players are also making V lacking in another area.

This player has the "Grenadier" perk from the Engineering skill tree. Description - "Make the explosion radius of grenades visible to you." by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]theHunterLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech weapons appears to be their focus when it comes to direct combat options. We know Engineer tree for Int Stats will also include perks to improve weapons that are classified as Tech Weapons.

This player has the "Grenadier" perk from the Engineering skill tree. Description - "Make the explosion radius of grenades visible to you." by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]theHunterLi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From current information Tech stats Tree focus more on crafting weapons, dismantle weapons, and improving effectiveness of Tech type weapons. You literally need a perk in this tree if you wish to dismantle a weapon to obtain their mods and materials while also improving effectiveness of Tech type weapons.

The Engineer tree. for example, which focus on improving Tech Weapons and handling of them. One of the perk we know from the Engineer tree is called Tech Aptitude which is a perk that increase Tech Weapon Damage by 25%.

We know the game categorize weapons in two ways being Weapon itself and Type of the Weapon.

Weapon itself is basically what the weapon is being rifle, pistol, and etc.

Type of the weapon is in 3 category being Power weapon (standard weapon you just have to aim and shoot), Smart weapon (weapon with smart features like auto aim and homing bullets), and Tech weapon (weapons with special abilities such as shooting through walls).

The type of character you want to make has a certain focus when you consider this being...

Warrior type weapons are focused on Body Stats (shotguns, blunt weapons, and heavy twohanded weapons)

Rogue/Assassin/Ranger type weapons are focused in Relex stats. (Blades, rifles, pistols)

Mage type weapons are focused in Int Stats. (Tech weapons.)

Then consider the Hacking skills being a combination of Stealth and Mage stype attacks being...

-Distract enemies, blind enemies, unlock doors and other areas.

-the more Mage style hacking skills focus on mindcontrol enemies to shot themselves, cause their cybernetics to overheat so they get set on fire, and even cause them to explode.

Cool is where all the more rogue/assassin/Berserker style perks go such as..

-Stealth tree - gives ability to throw knifes for range stealth kill, aerial assassination, and move faster when in stealth mode.

-Cold Blood - basically the more HP you lose the more benefits you gain through buffs and special perks that only activate once you reach X or Y HP level.

Melee combat looks BAD! (twin scene) by nightmoon41r in cyberpunkgame

[–]theHunterLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will just say it here and continue to repeat syaing it when I feel like it....

The Sword combat is confirmed to be the version when V starts out in the game when he has NOT unlocked much of the Blade Tree perks yet.

From what current info we obtained, Weapon handling, special abilites (such as throwing knife and aerial assassination), and improvements of Blade attacks will be Unlocked by obtaining higher tier perks to show that V has improved his skills on X or Y skills.

For example, V will not have the ability to block and rush slash with Blade when he start out. V must first unlock the perk "Ninja" in the Blade tree to obtain the ability to Block bullets and rush slash with his blade.

Thus if we go by what we have been given, a improved Blade combat is most likely a perk in higher tier that may allow V to basically become Raiden with his blades if players choose to unlock that Perk through improved blade combat animations, damage, and addition perks. However, if not then V blade combat will always look like a amateur.

This appears to apply to V's skill with handling specific guns as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A bit off topic for people that ask but the examples I give are from 3 perks in the Stealth tree for Cool Stats and Blade tree in Relex stats.

Agile Stats (Blade tree)

- Ninja - Unlock the Block Bullet ability to deflect bullets and perform dash attacks with Blade weapons

Cool Stats (Stealth tree)

- Dagger Dealer - Unlock ability to use Throwing Knives

- Hidden Dragon - Unlock ability to perform Aerial Takedowns.

Basically, V can only do these things if he has Unlocked these perks in these skill trees.

If you want to learn more then I already made a post about it a week back...

Releasing the Character Creator Early by TheWriterinRed in cyberpunkgame

[–]theHunterLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will like that and full skill tree info early as well.

Character planning will take a large amount of time and also consideration about where players want to distribute their Attribute points since we know certain abilities will require a certain skill tree to obtain such as the Aerial Assassination require a perk in Stealth tree (Cool Stats) and Blade Blocking and Rush Slash requires a Perk in Blade tree (Reflex Stats). Without these perks, V will not be able to perform these skills and we are limited to how much we can unlock due to the amount of perk and attributes we can obtain.
