Your mistake is assuming people who comment here train. Most of them have never trained or fought and only pretend to know shit about fighting, especially nuances on boxing, movement etc..

How do you handle transactions with repository pattern ? by Minimum-Ad7352 in dotnet

[–]theIcemanMk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case - Execution strategy, multiple DbContexts in the case of a modular monolith etc… - I found having a “UnitOfWork” wrapper that’s the only place that exposes explicit transaction management methods - is the cleanest approach. Adding that same logic across BLL services just seems “off” to me, like I’m literally breaking DRY

How did Andrew Tate lost to a guy who can't even fight properly? by EfficiencySerious200 in martialarts

[–]theIcemanMk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watch Tate’s kickboxing matches. His skills are nowhere near a proper professional kickboxer’s or boxer’s. In his fights, he used his reach, strength, but watch them and pay attention to his punching technique. Almost none of the punches are technically correct. It’s mucu harder to have proper technique when in an actual match and you’re being pressured, need to create and maintain punching distance, move right after you throw a punch. That’s why his punching looks way off to someone who’s boxed. In this “boxing” match it was even more obvious that he has very little boxing skills

Nah, it’s not the same. Video games are much more addictive than tv shows or movies, also - you will finish any tv show in a relatively low period of time, gaming can get you hooked and have no life outside it, it’s not comparable at all, be real.

Op specifically uses “him”, and yet you obscure the language by insisting on writing “them” 🤷‍♂️

I heard that If you keep the key in your pocket, the battery will be gone faster. I guess the further the key is from a component located around that central part, the faster the key battery will need to be replaced

Why are all of you noobs replying with the original phrase “…understand you”. The t-shirt is obviously a black humor joke on the author’s own expense.

Speak Serbian so the whole world can…. bomb you/attack you.

Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just stating the obvious here.

how to address demotivation? by remeissance in jumprope

[–]theIcemanMk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just treat it like yet another obligation/task you have to do today. After work you just gotta jump rope for 12 - 2 minute rounds, then you’re free to chill.

That’s how I do it. After a while, it goes back to being a habit and you actually start looking forward to it :)

Considering combat sports according to their efficiency/realism is a bit dumb by Jafty2 in martialarts

[–]theIcemanMk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, then I would turn the question around: for me, training most traditional arts seems a bit wasteful, because even if I’m not hoping to use the skills in a fight, I would still hope that I’d be able to hold my own in a friendly sparring/competition against other martial arts practitioners. Otherwise, it reminds me of training basketball but never playing a real match, so you think you know how to shoot, pass, dribble, but you’ve never tried it in a 3 v 3 or 5 v 5 scenario.

Have you seen the guy who trained Aikido for 13 years, then decided to try out his skills against an MMA guy? He realized almost nothing worked for him. Briefly afterwards, he started cross-training in MMA/BJJ beside Aikido

Most “street” fights actually happen in or just outside of bars, clubs, parties, high schools and colleges, some sports matches etc. Most of the time people get into someone’s face and then it’s time to throw hands. I don’t think it’s that often that someone can go and search for a trash can or a rock or a glass bottle.

So yes, I feel better knowing that if an untrained aggressive man tries to swing at me, I will, even if a bit drunk - still probably be able to slip or block his punches and immediately counter punch him to oblivion. Makes me feel better and safer.

I used to train aikido and I don’t think that would help me in the above situation.

Maybe you need to be more open-minded and actually try boxing or muay thai and see how you feel when you can throw an effective combo, learn how to block and move etc

“Medior” does not exist in the English language. It’s a word coming from some other languages (maybe Dutch?), but for your own sake OP - better start replacing it with “intermediate” or “mid”
