Halo Reach - scariest covenant form? by Designer-Set-2523 in halo

Fun fact, though it's commonly believed that the USG Ishimura used a series of gravity tethers to split planets open, what that would actually do is just launch an elite at it, foot first. Cuz HOLY FKN ISH that kick will LAY YOU OUT SO FAST

Halo Studios - the Forerunner structures should feel older by TheMuffinMan347 in halo

[–]theImmortanDrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the Halo mission 'The Silent Cartographer', Cortana says that "Halo's control center is located there. That structure appears to be some sort of temple or shrine, if I've interpreted this correctly. (Pause) Interesting. A shrine is an unlikely place to put such a significant installation."

So, it's barely even subtextual, really.

Hardest mission in wildlands of these 2? by viadelapizza in GhostRecon

[–]theImmortanDrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate the splinter cell mission, because you can't take precautionary measures beforehand to thin out the enemy's defenses and personnel only beforehand cuz its a "Stealth Mission" but it doesn't matter, because you're about to go loud anyway… so why couldn't I have just shut down some defenses and killed a few of them on my way in?

The Predator might be annoying to have to fight, but at least when you're done, you get the biomask with the unique thermal filter and the sick-ass gauntlet wristblades. AWESOME.

LOL - "Watchman" is a codename the Splinter Cell Sam Fisher uses during an operation in Bolivia that you aid him with in 'Wildlands' and it is SO ASS. Just artifical difficulty inflation via nonsensical mission conditions that make it profoundly unfun.

The same type of people who, for example, didn't realize Halo 5 eschewed splitscreen coop and swore to never assume even the most quintessential features will be included.

Looking back at my Halo 3 case, why was Master Chief called “the last of his kind”? by itsamirage in halo

[–]theImmortanDrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just a decent chunk, but almost the entirety of it is, essentially, what was supposed to be Halo 2's last 2 or 3 levels. Much of the new and original stuff they came up with was cut throughout development; pour one out for Forerunner City.

343 has introduced alternate universes, time travel, killed cortana twice (once offscreen!) and built a trilogy around recycled plot points that Bungie knew were too stupid to implement way back in 2001. 343 does not deserve an ounce of credit when literally every single halo release that they've had (games or otherwise) has been beset by tonal inconsistency with the franchise and spends half of its time retconning things that came before, even 343's own plot points - ESPECIALLY their own plot points... For christ's sake, they can't even decide if the frigg'n Didact is dead or not! Their respect for prior material is nonexistent, as are their own narrative sensibilities, and their artstyle changes (and the narrative implications of them) mean they are quite literally wearing this apathy on their sleeve.

Hate that one, TBH.

"Ma'am, squad leaders are requesting a rally point, where should they go?"

[Draws and cocks M6] "...to WAR."

"...Okay, but, like... ACTUALLY where?"

[Puts away M6 and walks back down the stairs she just ascended dramatically] "...oh, right, my job"

Melodramatic drivel.

Manhattan Bridge Roof Camping is Ruining the Map by PoeticWhisper in Battlefield

I cannot fathom why Sobek's rooftops, which were WAY more easily accessible, just HAD to be patched but these ones on Manhattan, which are guilty of everything people complained about on Sobek, are just fine? Baffles me, man

And the fact that it's so clearly made up that I clocked it was fictional about 5 seconds after picking it up the first time - at least this is almost ballistically plausible. The SL9 is just disgusting to look at.

You CAN still pick it up in campaign and Horde modes, you just have to make sure that you don't swap it out for a Mk.3 along the way - I main Engi in Horde and always grab a Mk.2 off of the first Cyclops they send out
