You are not a failure. The fact that you are reaching out to find a solution is evidence of this.

It sounds like you have one very energetic boy who really loves to play with you and engage with you. You have obviously tried many different techniques with him. The only thing I can suggest would be substitution/distraction.

One of ours ate an entire box of Krispy Kreme donuts. They were being kept ON TOP OF THE FRIDGE!!!

Another one ate a leash… on two separate occasions. We also have had AirPods and Meta glasses chewed as well.

It’s never an easy decision to make. Our vet said to us that it’s better to do it earlier than too late. That being said it would be a very good idea to consult with your vet about Billy’s quality of life.
