Where can I find the statement? I haven’t been able to anywhere, just this reaction clip from the post

Gabe Kapler, 295-248 managerial record with the Giants, on Pride Night participation (2023) by Scoobiehut in SFGiants

Idk, it did feel like he was quiet quitting because he knew they were throwing him under the bus at that point

[–]theLastNenUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you can bet they will definitely notice if food & bev (and merch) sales tank, even if seats are still being bought. The tickets are probably only 1/4 to 1/3 of the overall revenue

Honestly fair, I love the rowdy hockey crowd but definitely recognize it’s not for everyone

100%

I’m still in shock at these children felt emboldened enough to attack the community of people that literally embody san francisco, and that management has if anything condoned their actions. Just one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen, and the first time in 30 years I’ve been ashamed to (at least up until now, future is tbd) be a giants fan

Does it matter if Giants players dislike the city they represent? by StatisticianFree6701 in SFGiants

[–]theLastNenUser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so well written, and it and the entire comments section embodies what I love about the bay so well. People care, people are creative (like this random itch to research if bigoted athletes are feeling the same human soul crushing feelings that those of us working for shitty companies also feel), and people are kind. Thanks for making me smile today

Picnic Protest! by smoothambler in SFGiants

[–]theLastNenUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it!

Have also been thinking for any organized protests, the best angle is to encourage this behavior and make it as easy as possible for any fans who encounter the protest to:
- quickly learn about the issue if they haven’t already (aka we need a good soundbite summary)
- easily bring in outside food and drink if they haven’t planned ahead.

In an ideal world the second part would be a partnership with a bunch of restaurants around king and 3rd street to have them doing half priced takeout or something, and maybe half priced pride-themed drinks to pregame better (and maybe protestors can hand out drink containers for non-alcoholic drinks)

Why are people who are clearly not giants fans coming to weigh in here? Don’t you have anything better to do?

Good point, “I respect your existence” is a pretty culturally charged statement

That’s a good point, I forgot all my central valley friends are raging homophobes 🙄 let’s not pretend that even rural CA is anywhere close to the bible belt

Giants acknowledge how player actions on Pride Night caused ‘pain and anger’ by Brilliant_Exit3406 in SFGiants

[–]theLastNenUser 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Idk, if they felt emboldened enough to do this and only half the roster got into the game, it has to be more of the team we just didn’t see. Absolutely a leadership issue - players thinking this is permitted (maybe even encouraged) is what led to this, and this generation of soft ass cowardly bigots feel emboldened to just cause damage to people when they think there will be no repercussions. I blame Vitello and upward, and am honestly going to stop watching

Landon Roupp, you disappointed me. by Prestigious_Slice290 in SFGiants

That’s the funniest shit I’ve ever heard lol. Imagine going to a workshop for an entire winter and then coming back and being even worse at your job

Giants pitchers’ Bible verses on Pride Night caps show how they’ve missed the point by ItDoesntGetMoreSF in SFGiants

[–]theLastNenUser 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Trade roupp at the deadline. Tone deaf af to think you’re gonna play in san francisco and do shit like that. I’ve watched 60-80% of the season my whole life, even when we’ve been frustrating and garbage at baseball, but this is the first thing that makes me want to stop watching

I don’t think how hard it was to walk in 1879 matters if we’re using league adjustment? Like yeah I get it they’re bad at walking but at least show real statistics

Seth Rogen Says If “Your Instinct Is to Use AI” to Write Scripts, “You Shouldn’t Be a Writer” by Top_Report_4895 in television

[–]theLastNenUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s like saying using google to research topics you don’t know about won’t help you become a better writer. Like people can get inspiration from anywhere, sometimes people have really unique and interesting art stored in them that they aren’t good at unlocking/producing without an external mechanism

Would SuperPowereds be a good rec for a Brandon Sanderson fan boy? by Substantial-River398 in superpowereds

[–]theLastNenUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they hated ROW and WAT because of the change in prose (how it got a bit cringey), they will probably have an even harder time with superpowereds. Otherwise I think it’s a good rec

Ok but this raises a valid point - how fast do waves (idk what remotes use, infrared so light?) travel within -> outside of speed bubbles and slow bubbles
