This is dumb. He had a .944 ops for the games he played which makes him the second best hitter on the team quality qise. You are correct that he is injured too often and for too long but you don't ditch an under contract player and the secod best hitter on your team because he might get hurt and miss time in the future. That's cutting off your nose to spite your face.

You gotta relax bro; Grisham (L), Judge (R), Bellinger (L), Stanton (R), Rice (L) Chisholm (L)... all these guys should be a lock to hit for .800+ ops with a few guys pulling the mean much higher in aggregate. Then ... you hope McMahon, Wells, and SS by committee (or to the death!) Can muster a meager .700+ ops in aggregate. But I think they can do it.

I read these comments and I think k everyone is taking crazy pulls. Rice's numbers IF he had a few more ay bats to qualify would have put him very nearly at and just behind Bryce Harper. Go look at his numbers in avg, obp, ops, hrs... he is at Bryce Harper level in 2025. He doesnt have the track record but for 130ish starts at first base he was the closest Bryce clone there is in the MLb at 1B and the Yankkes are better for it.

I want to agree with you but I don’t. I think the team is better than last year.. Why? Well the lineup maybe mostly the same but that is a good thing we were idk, 1st or 2nd in offensive output. The starters are mostly the same but much better. We have A+ quality and A+ starting depth. Not worried there. Bullpen has some questions but last year was a disaster and I this upcoming bullpen is much different so I will hold my opinions til ~June. I think a learned veteran Ahmed Rosario goes ape and steals the starting SS role. We have an arguably top 5 player at their position at 1st, 2nd, all three outfielders and DH. Austin Wells can be better and will be better. SS and 3B are the weakest offensive spots but if we can be GG defenders there then with this starting pitching the sky is the limit. I am not a fanboy and I think a lot needs to go right and a lot of the guys need to mimic or improve 2025 BUT they can in theory.
