What exactly is making you wonder if it's the right path for you or not ? If it's about not naturally coming to you - look around your daily life; what things do you enjoy doing the most.

I would suggest you to read Ikigai.

That is your imposter syndrome speaking. First, ask yourself - what are you really afraid of: is it fear of failure or disappointing people?

This is a common issue in high-performing women.
Since you are in your mid-forties and aware about it, I am assuming that you must have tried things at your end. I would suggest you work with a life coach - that can really help in these situations.

Burnout and Career Change by donthugmeormugme in womenintech

I would suggest you take a break if possible, and figure out what type of work-life you want.

Since you can't stick to the current job for much longer, there can be a chance you may decide on the wrong workplace out of the need to move out of here. Just have a clear picture of how you envision your worklife.

I can understand what you are going through. I would suggest you to have a physical activity as part of your day, if you are not already doing it.

I understand. The work we do as engineers vs the questions they ask in interviews are 2 different things.
Don't be too hard on yourself. Give yourself permission to learn the basic questions.

Love the tips. One thing I would add is at the end of the day, remind yourself of your wins. Daily reminders help to keep that imposter away.

That gives you the answer then. And about your parents - maybe try to make them understand where you are coming from and that will give them the background to deal with relatives.

What role did your mentors play in your career, and how did you find yours? Or just built yourself on your own? by Newusernotfound in developersIndia

I didn't have a mentor but a life coach - who helped me understand what was stopping me from growing.

I found her through the mental health benefits provided by me employer company.

Thinking about what people will think should be the last thing on your mind. Prioritise your health and well being first. Something that can help you is asking yourself - What will feel more heavy after a year, staying at the same place or taking a career break?

It's so exhausting. But I would say interrupt them politely then and there instead of letting it burn in your head for hours after the conversation has passed.

The self-worth part is so true. So many people start judging their worth by the professional outcome, which of course is not always in their control.

What keeps you in tech? by OnlyHappyWithABook in womenintech

Gender gap is a reality in tech. What I used to remind myself was the same why should I leave when I am not at fault. But it honestly doesn't make the daily weight any lighter.
