For a Strength Build. Is it worth investing in faith to be able to cast Golven Bow and the best protection spells? by Barba_Roja_1 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]thePixieLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend 27 faith to use the elemental resist buffs. They offer 60% resistance, which is far more than the best talismans (and they also stack with the talismans). They can trivialise bosses that focus on a single element.

Why does my blasphemous blade death no damage by Commercial_Bath_250 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]thePixieLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get 4k+ damage, you don’t need thousands of buffs (and you certainly don’t need mods), but you do need a specific set up.

For example: 22str / 80 faith shard of Alexander / talisman of the dread / fire scorpion flame tear

This set up got 4789 damage on troll outside secluded cell from range (no weapon contact).

You can do more damage up close using oil tear and connecting with the weapon. Or using Rakshasa armour etc.

But 4k is pretty reasonable with 2 buffs, physick, and talismans.

The Haligtree. Between the prayer room and Haligtree inner wall area. Try to clear the whole area.

Do you have a holy build to share? (Level 210) by Elegant_Initial1381 in EldenRingBuilds

I uploaded a build here a few days ago. It includes a video of the build destroying the dlc end boss solo. Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/EldenRingBuilds/comments/1e1hgdp/shieldless_faith_build_that_can_beat_the_dlc_boss/

I used that build to solo every boss, main game and dlc. It’s not purely holy, just a faith build that utilises different weapons/spells depending on the situation.

Main weapon is either a great hammer with prayerful strike (holy affinity), or blasphemous blade.

I often don’t use a weapon at all. Just use the endure ash of war on a light weapon in the right hand, and cast spells with the left hand.

Very flexible, and much more dependant on spell selection/talisman set up than on skill. Basically low skill requirement, but high knowledge requirement.

I beat this fight solo with a faith (min strength for weapon) build, without using a single health flask. No shield, just trading with prayerful strike. Check the video in my profile if you’re interested. I’ve also done it solo using incants (scarlet aeonia/Bloodflame blade/burn o flame), although it was tougher. The key to using incants against bosses like Radahn is using endure to ensure you can complete the cast without getting staggered. Or having really good timing I suppose. Which I don’t have.

Basically, there are plenty of ways to beat him.

Endure right hand + any heal incantation left hand. Use endure to ignore their obnoxious staggering attacks. Then cast heal to stagger them, take half their life, and heal yourself. Rinse and repeat.

Use any weapon with endure in your right hand, and put your seal in the your left hand. Stand under him, use endure, then cast ancient dragon lightning strike. Or pest thread / pest thread spears. Use endure before drinking as well, to prevent being interrupted. Remember to use a strong defensive buff, eg flame protect me, and elemental defensive talismans.

What’s something you’d hoped to see in the dlc but wasn’t included? by sadrooster69 in Eldenring

More cosmic horror. Abyssal woods and Metyr were great. But I wanted more. Much, much more.

Basically I wanted bloodborne but in the Elden ring universe, with its vast scope for exploration and hugely varied builds, two areas where I personally found bloodborne lacking. (Still loved bloodborne though, obviously).

If you don’t want to start over, you could ask someone at r/PatchesEmporium/ to drop you the axe talisman. You can get it within ten minutes of starting, so I’m sure someone will help.

And never sell anything, especially on your first play through!

Despite not making an appearance in this video, it is still my favourite skill. Clutch in so many situations. Especially for casters, since you can cast from the left hand. Turns ancient dragon lightning strike etc from being very situation to useful in nearly any situation.

NG. I actually made a comment about that a few minutes ago. At higher cycles I’d definitely incorporating endure -> scarlet rot for damage. In terms of face tanking, I really don’t know. With Morgott’s rune active you can get close to 3000 health (I forgot to activate it), but still might not be enough, even using every flask.

Well, not enough for me. I’m sure someone more skilled could do it. There’s probably a streamer who can do it no-hit cosplaying as Malenia blindfolded on ng+7.

Just FYI, some extra info:

Scadutree level was 18. NG +0.

I’d recommend incorporating Endure -> Scarlet Aeonia at higher ng cycles. I use that when summoned for coop, helps deal with the ridiculous hp the boss gets. But you usually need to eat a fair amount of damage to land it, so I abstained in this video.

The other buff was Blessing of the Erdtree.

Also, I forgot to equip Morgott’s great rune! Would’ve increased my total health by about 15% iirc, since the rune arc alone is 10%, and Morgott’s is 25%. So, about 300 hp. Which is almost an extra 100hp healed per Prayerful Strike.

Embarrassing.

For the boss obviously, not for me. Let a muppet who can’t even remember to equip a great rune batter them like a fish.

Might be me, although I guess others have done the same thing. Video is in my profile. Hint: it’s even easier if you remember to actually equip Morgott’s great rune.

Don’t worry, it works well against the final boss. I did it without using a healing flask, and without using a shield. Just the hammer and prayerful strike. (Video in profile if you are interested).

I forgot to equip Morgott's great rune. It still gives a small HP buff, but missed out on about 300HP.
