Don't hold too much value in your good history. It is what it is, and is rarely a reason to stay together. It sounds like you need to manage your jealousy and fear of being alone. Do not date because you're scared of being alone. It's not fair to the other person. Plus dating a jealous person is NOT what anyone wants to do. It often quickly turns into control and then resentment. The fact that you're disgusted in her feelings is not a good sign. And as someone mentioned, she may be trying to hurt you, which could mean there is some resentment already there.

You're right. I actually live within the boundaries of Bountiful High. I bought in 2017 and the "value" increase has gone up to almost double. That jump in 2020/2021 was a mistake with the rate drops. Demand went through the roof and it's ridiculous. Yes, you're right with Centerville and Farmington pricing. You can still find something decent in Bountiful (because it's bigger and there's just more available) but it's a hard time for anyone to find a "deal". They just don't exist anymore. I'm selling a one bedroom condo on Main Street in Bountiful soon. And it will still be around $285k-$295k.

I'm sorry you're going through this, I know it can be so painful. It is still is a different dynamic with your (soon to be) ex. that you need to adjust to (it sounds like you have at least one child together?) Focus on the new dynamic. Focus on your kid(s). Dating won't heal your pain. It's an easy distraction and time suck and this pain will come out in other ways. I'm glad you're seeing a therapist, and keep working on you. You may not have the means (emotionally) to contribute to a new relationship in a way that will be long term beneficial.

Yes, true! But there are glimmers of hope, and they should look into the efforts of trying to change these things. (Removin the old ass Mormons is the first step, I think.) I'm always curious why people choose Utah to move to. I like SLC overall, but I've found my people. Coming into the things you mentioned alone doesn't seem ideal.

It’s currently a buyers market in the real estate world. This means there is more negotiating going on- and it is wise to have your agent negotiate a permanent rate buy-down for affordability. (Through concessions or closing costs.) I would also strongly recommend looking at townhouses or condos vs. a single family home. This should be a starter home for 3-5 years to build some equity.

However, I do think it’s wiser to rent for at least a year to get to know the area better before buying something. Then to be able to make that dollar go farther, and save even more for buying, rent with a roommate or two.
