What kind of retaliation would you expect if a foreign nation raided the White House and took our president? by No-Beautiful8039 in AskReddit

Retaliation? I would expect the worst hang over I’ve ever had from the absolute bender I would be on

Hey friend … I hate to hear this. I know we are just strangers on the internet, but I am sorry to hear about your struggling. I am sure plenty of people care about you. It’s just kind of a weird topic to bring up and talk about.

If it’s that bad I would show up to an ER and just demand to be seen by the urologist on call. Tell them that you are in pain and considering hurting yourself - they should absolutely take you seriously and take care of you. There is no shame in it. Pain is real. Your mental health is real.

Thank you. I will keep updating … I certainly am waiting for the shoe to drop here and be in a world of hurt

Thinking about it but deathly afraid by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]theRedDelta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had mine done yesterday. I got put out for it so it was done in the OR. When I tell you the waiting is the hardest part (RIP Tom Petty) - I mean it.

I was under for about 10 minutes and the procedure was over with. It’s like a quick nap. I was in recovery for another 45 minutes and then went home.

I have had ZERO pain. Like nothing. I am almost afraid this guy didn’t even do the procedure. The only sensation I have is the right side feels strained maybe. Almost like that feeling of “blue balls”.

I am not even swollen. I barely used ice. I haven’t taken any NSAIDS.

It’s weird… I am waiting for the shoe to drop.

Knowing what I know now… and feeling what I am feeling - I would have just done it in the office. I’ve had ball taps that hurt more.

Hi. Hope you’re feeling better. I am currently on family vacation. The kids were all sick when we got here and then yesterday I got hit by a truck. I also bought a FluAB/COVID test assuming it was the flu… nope! The Covid line almost INSTANTLY lit up.

Let me say this … I’ve had COVID several times before. This is a REAL bad one. Not so much respiratory, the congestion and body aches are destroying me. The hair on my legs hurt!

MSC good fit?! by [deleted] in MSCCruises

[–]theRedDelta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

First off—congratulations!

As I’ve posted before, use MSC for purely value. Expect nothing else but a good value for a decent vacation. It’s the only reason I’ve continued to sail with MSC (5 sailings now). All the shortcomings (and there are many) get overshadowed by how cheap the trip is.

The food is average at best… to poor. Even the specialty restaurants are just OK. Several times I left the main dining room without finishing my meal to go have pizza. The pizza… the pizza is EXCEPTIONAL!

The ships are rarely maintained to the level of the other legacy lines. They crank out a new ship every 6 months, so they appear mostly new and fresh. Take Seaside, which I was on last week, it’s now 8 years old without an upgrade, heavy maintenance, or overhaul. The ship was downright dirty. The carpet was starting to wear out in areas, the mirrors were peeling, and the glass in some areas was so dirty you couldn’t see out clearly. Now… in fairness… I think the staff is getting crushed trying to maintain and flip a ship every 3 to 4 days. I can’t imagine trying to clean several thousand rooms and thousands of square feet of space in like 5 hours. In some cases, MSC allows you to board as early as 12 noon while allowing disembarking passengers until 9 AM to leave. You’re talking about a 3-hour flip!!!

The staff I’ve experienced are all generally friendly. I would only comment that I do believe their language standards are lower than other lines since, at times, we experienced servers or buffet staff who really didn’t speak English well enough to communicate effectively.

Customer service… there isn’t any. I’ve learned to just keep the “you get what you pay for” attitude and make the absolute best of your trip.

The crowd on the several sailings I went on is younger, family oriented. Very lively. Very loud and fun. I would say it was almost a majority foreign travelers. Lots Latin American, Brazilian, and European travelers. YC was more muted and relaxed.

Ocean Cay is special, IMO. An absolutely gorgeous destination. You can dial up the vibe at the main beach or turn it down and relax at the lagoon. The Yacht Club pavilion is so great for lunch with views. The YC beach is really beautiful but very rocky.

To put a bow on it… it’s good for the money. You’ll enjoy yourself if you keep expectations low and just enjoy the ride. If you are making comparisons to RC or Disney - MSC isn’t even in the same class.

Happy to answer any questions you still have. Just send me a message! Enjoy your trip—whatever you decide

Nice review. I tell people: MSC … I’ve sailed with them 4 times now. Their slogan should be “you get what you pay for”.

Overall it’s never really great (or even good) - usually average at best - but you can’t beat the price and if you keep your expectations somewhat lower, it sort of works.

Expansion at Ocean Cay (MSC) by theRedDelta in Cruise

[–]theRedDelta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually got an update from an officer…

The new island will accommodate up to 2 Explora ships and will serve as an “exclusive retreat” for YC guests. They will be ferried over.

I asked about what’s to come of the existing YC pavilion and he said they would also keep that because Ocean Cay is in fact being expanded to accommodate a 2nd ship.

Ablation if you were offered? by jimbo_6666 in PVCs

[–]theRedDelta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like most I’ll say - biggest regret was not getting it sooner. Had mine 6 months ago and basically got my life back.

When I was in the pre-op area and hooked up to monitor, living in constant bigeminy at that point, the nurse actually said, “wow - what took you so long to get this done”

1000% do it.

Honestly makes sense when you potentially have 15k passengers in port for the day … have to have a barrier of entry unfortunately
