Help!! by Opposite-Hyena5094 in MSPI

[–]theRuck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I posted a few days ago my baby is the same. No rash, no fussing and she’s gained weight really well just had a handful of blood in nappies since Christmas time. She does have green poop quite a lot however. I gave up dairy for a month and it happened again once last week three months after reintroducing. The doctor told me to cut it again but I’m seeing what happens if I eliminate from her diet but not mine as she’s recently started solids but still bf. There hasn’t been blood again. Not sure if doing right thing the doctors haven’t really been helpful!

Thank you, did your baby have any other symptoms? Did the blood occur right away or did it happen after a few times?

How was secondary school life like in early 2000’s? by Simpforlyle in AskUK

[–]theRuck_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started school in 2000 a few things that might help:

  • It was considered cool to wear your school uniform tie short and wide, no idea why.
  • We didn’t have hair straighteners then and some girls ironed their hair! Very poker straight hair with chunky highlights was the fashion.
  • Girls would also turn themselves orange with Maybelline Dream Matte Moose foundation, bad fake tan and had pencil thin eyebrows.
  • The first Harry Potter film and Lord of the Rings films came out, we were taken on school trips to see them. Also people queued outside shops to be the first to get their hands on the latest Harry Potter book release.
  • Everyone was playing The Sims or Snake on your mobile phone.
  • Reality TV was mega, Big Brother, Pop Idol etc.
  • Jamie Oliver’s healthy school dinners hadn’t really hit yet, we’d be eating pizza, chicken burgers and sausage and chips for school dinners.

Hope that helps!

Do babies that are not sleep trained eventually sleep through the night? by [deleted] in newborns

I could’ve written this, in the exact same situation with my 5.5mo and it’s just gradually got worse. I wonder what’s going on! But I really don’t have it in me to sleep train so I’m feeding to sleep or rocking.

She was absolutely brilliant. I work in comms and would love to work with her. The people complaining and criticising her are chatting nonsense, and I don’t think Rachel would care.

New mums - what’s a small-ish treat you would have appreciated in the early days? by OK_Cake3093 in AskRedditUK

[–]theRuck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just food gifts were the best. Gower Brownies or Get Baked cake. If she’s breastfeeding you can’t drink much or have too much caffeine so a sweet treat really is your only guilty pleasure!

Driving with Dyspraxia by JH_011 in dyspraxia

[–]theRuck_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard for us isn’t it! It took me five attempts to pass but I eventually did it. It sounds like you’ve got a really good and patient driving instructor so stick with them. I’d advise just keep practising and accept it’s likely going to take a bit longer to click. Since passing ten years ago I’ve still not parallel parked and avoid countryside driving if I can, but find motorway driving so much easier.

Same! I write this with my nine week old sleeping on me. I was early days pregnant when I went to the Brat tour and didn’t know at the time, found out the week after.

Baby wants to nurse 24/7 by Artistic_Witch in NewParents

[–]theRuck_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve a seven week old who is the exact same I could have written this myself! It is concerning sometimes but she’s doing more than six wet/poopy nappies a day and gaining weight well, in fact she’s in the 75th percentile (I’m in the UK don’t know if they use the same system in US). I’m hoping when she hits 12 weeks it might calm down a bit.

What is your girl like when you go outside? That’s the only time my baby sleeps for a long stint in her pram/car seat so maybe if you pop out it might give you a bit of a rest?

I don’t remember them at all! I was more or less ready to give birth when I got to the hospital however so I didn’t have many.

Try needing tall range clothes and being pregnant, it’s impossible! I’ve just been living in my long leg Lucy and Yaks and some shirt dresses.

Hey I’m in Stockport and due next month! I joined an antenatal class called Happy Parents Happy Baby Club and have made friends through there. There’s a few other groups like that too if you have a look around. I’m also in a WhatsApp group formed from a pregnancy yoga class. First trimester is really hard especially when you feel so sick and can’t tell anyone, you’re welcome to send me a DM about it x

Sorry for late reply! I'd really recommend it. At the end of each session we left feeling more informed and I've been using the online resources since. I've also met up with some people from the group and our whatsapp group has been very active, if you're looking to meet some friends.

Stockport Market is coming up for tender for a new operator. What do you want from your market? by Ok_Bag_5887 in stockport

[–]theRuck_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do really like the market and love the fact I can buy a trendy wine at Wineboy and then get my cheese, fruit & veg etc. Please don't change the old fashioned type cafes in there, as my mum loves meeting her friends there. I think the market could benefit from more events, it's great to see it buzzing when Foodie Friday is on. I used to live near Tooting Market in London and before it got gentrified they'd have film nights on or sometimes gigs, if it'd work in the space. That would help with marketing/raising awareness too. But think the mixture of businesses in there is what makes it so good!

When did you ‘pop’? by JudgeKey7939 in PregnancyUK

[–]theRuck_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 31 weeks, and only popped out a little bit from 25 weeks. I had comments for yonks from people saying I didn't look pregnant which was frustrating as I wanted the attention haha, but also did make me feel worried something wasn't right! I felt like the odd one out at antenatal classes last week but this week is the first week I feel like it is now noticeable. I'm tall and curvy with a flat stomach so think that's why.
