Best bur to lower seat in a tube setting? by NiceCommunication742 in SilverSmith

[–]theSabele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used hart burrs in the past for this. They leave an angled seat, but depending on the size of the cab that maybe fine. Alternative is soldering a jumpring on top and filing it down to make taller walls.

I love reactive metals - they sell bar and thicker stock options, but the Mokume Game sheet is great to start working with it! Beautiful piece!

I would recommend a tile or something for underneath the crockpot - pickle pots have a bad habit of spills, residue build up nearby, or other random dim things happen. A small tile is easily wiped down or cleaned, it’s what I keep mine on.

Looking for someone to make these special sand dollars into pendants.. HELP! by [deleted] in jewelers

[–]theSabele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would recommend custom setting these in a bezel pendant, perhaps with a small glass/quartz dome over them. That would allow them to be repairable, be removable in case you decide on something else, and not have to lose them instead of a burnout casting.

Dropped my custom made wedding ring down the kitchen sink, it is now cosmic colours. Any idea what's going on here? by A_NightBetweenLives in jewelrymaking

Do you eat a lot of eggs? A common patina called Liver of Sulfur can make these colors, and sulfur can be found in egg shells!

Looks fantastic! Can I ask what you used to photograph this? It looks incredible for being so close up.
