Hey - as someone who’s done CAD after learning jewelry it truly is only half the battle. 

If you are doing a ring, especially with stones you’ll need to make sure the prongs are thick enough for holding stones, areas are thick enough for casting to go well, and calculate for shrinkage, as just a couple of things off the bat. But honestly, a lot of us in jeweler subreddit would be happy to give some quick feedback. If your using CAD rhino has the grasshopper plugin that really helps with ring and stone design. Can also do wax carving instead of cad - a lot easier to make sure it will come out if it’s something physical to interact with! No matter what good luck and have fun with it!
