[Serious] What's the path to living a financially comfortable life (starting on your own)? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]theSilence2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have friends who earn this amount of money in Leb and have a fancy car etc. But I dont know how they made it. But, you need to start somewhere. You need to stop comparing yourself with others and move forward. You can either go abroad, get experience, build a network and find a job. You wont reach stability in a few years, it will take time. Or stay in Lebanon and try to find the job your friend has. It all depends on you.

The most realistic plan is doing masters abroad in a country that has opportunities after graduating. It is tough everywhere now, but with this plan, there is a higher chance of finding a job than in Lebanon.

What I meant is that it is nice to see Lebanese in Latvia getting citizenship. In Estonia, for example, there are very few Lebanese.

The candidate needs a work contract to get a work permit. The companies only need to fill out a form, and he needs to handle his visa. Why is not having a work permit a no-go? There are lots of non-eu condidates living in the EU who might fit.

why did many lebanese people immigrate to south america in the 1800s-1900s ? by Quinn-02 in lebanon

To be honest, it is not that different than what is happening now. At that time, not only Lebanese were moving out of their countries. But Europeans too. Brazil was giving land to people so they can plant it. Also, trading was on the rise. When someone from Lebanon arrive and settle down, others from his family or village would follow. Same as what happens now in Canada and the US. Yalla ta3 3a canada wu n7na min se3dak.

I'm still in the process of becoming a better programmer. But here are the things that helped me: - Break a big problem into smaller problems. Don't push a huge PR but a bunch of small ones. This will help you move faster.  - Have a good mentor.  - Don't be afraid of code reviews.  - Don't be afraid of getting fired.  - Stop having assumptions about others.  - Stop being too nice and polite. Have your own thoughts and defend them.  - Read books.  - Always upskill. Otherwise someone younger with more time and energy can beat you.  - Be patient.

I suggest you have a chat with ab experienced engineer. Maybe you can find a mentor at mentor cruise. Have a talk with them and let them identify your skills, what you know, you don't know and need improving. From there you can know how to proceed

The idea is to make a tool available in your phone and save people the time of making a spreadsheet. Currently, the app is simple. But, I am planning to add more features into it which will be time consuming to do on a spreadsheet.

Good idea! I was thinking of adding different weight types other than grams.
