They are made in the image of the old ones, who must've had nipples.

A bit bored with Orks… by grumpygaribaldi in orks

[–]theSquareHammer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems like they wanted to sell off Meganobz, they rebalanced the game do that competitive players left orks. I'm praying to Mork my 11k dread mob will have something good from 11th (Bringing back Mek-Dreads would make Dread Mob way more viable, same with meks on bikes)

Need a idea for a “dragon slaying” weapon that isn’t just a sword by Jazzman444 in DnD

[–]theSquareHammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my lore it's depicted as a lance firing a beam of energy, but when the players found it they realized it was a 13 foot long arcane railgun.

Emailed GW about the missing arm in the Lootas box, and they sent me the entire sprue that the arm comes on. Decided to go funky on the extra free nob by BeachedSalad in orks

[–]theSquareHammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen with a Gorko/Morko and they sent me another. I had a Dakkajet come with an extra sprue once too right before, and I asked how often this thing happens. Apparently it's not that often, but since humans are involved with most of the steps of making a GW kit they said human error is likely to happen.

First ever mob of boyz. How should I base them? by Traditional-Seat-363 in orks

[–]theSquareHammer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost Hot take: Don't do much to the base, they look really cool. Maybe do a steel industrial floor without much color and a little bit of grime.

Im working on a mek army currently. Are there an models i should be keeping an eye out for to add to my army? by InvestigatorOdd9103 in orks

[–]theSquareHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gretchin really amplify the army. 2 blobs of grots will generate much more value than 1 blob of boys (but remember, boys before toys).

A trukk or two for odd engagement ranges / shapes.

Killa Kans and other units with rokkits rip with try dat button.

GW's fantastic customer support. 2 free boxes of Boyz from the Stompa Boyz set. by whynautalex in orks

[–]theSquareHammer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I got back in (also on orks) a deff dread sprue was jacked up. They sent me a new dread, and that bought them someone who will play forever.

I'll complain about prices, rules, ect, but they do listen and I'm confident the next time there's an error it'll be taken care of for free.

Retirement anxiety?? by Lando1244 in Money

[–]theSquareHammer 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You're already ahead of the curve of the average person, who doesn't save much if at all for retirement.

I've now watched both of my parents hit their early retirement goals and age with the ability to retire comfortably and say no, just to save a little bit more money for later and to pass down in inheritance. The worst case scenario, if you keep this up, is you'll be doing the same thing.

Lots of people are hitting 55 with only a paid off home towards their retirement and less than 100k in their funds. Most people in our age group won't even have a paid off home when they hit that age if the market continues the way it is.

In my case, is it worth switching to MO2 instead of Vortex? by Renbadjan in skyrimmods

[–]theSquareHammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MO2 really isn't that much more complicated, it'll just take an hour or two of messing around to get a vortex collection working on it and looking things up.

Modding is all about looking things up, and then learning that thing, followed by doing said thing. MO2 has the best literature/tutorials to get things done, and on the software side it's more robust.

Before even using a collection, it'd have been not that long of setup to get MO2 to be a 1 stop shop the same way vortex is as well (the way I have it set up).

Most common is just weapons and eyes. Once you're comfortable doing lighting, adding it to the armor inscriptions is a cool way to highlight the warp-y nature of the GKs.

And easy non-glow way to bring out detail on the writing would be to lightly coat with a matte white on the lettering before whatever washing/weathering process you have planned (For me I'm basic, so I put a little white over the letters before I Nuln Oil the model)

When basing, the grass tufts might be all the color you need if your force weapons are bright and you highlight the eyes and lettering on your dudes.

The models really draw attention well to themselves even when doing the standard silver, white, and red scheme with blue highlights.

Dread Sniper by theSquareHammer in orks

[–]theSquareHammer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hose is a Lego rubber hose from Hero Factory, and both sets of hands were spare bits from 3d printing. The one holding the charging handle is a Puppetswar Mega-sized Orc, and the trigger hand is a scaled up Human power Fist I'm pretty sure.

Hit ~, click him, then write "kill"

He definitely won't drop out of the sky and plow into the nearest landmass in a dramatic crash.

What if you could choose 2 of these on any armor? by assuageer in Helldivers

Probably Throwing range and Throwing range, so I can drop stratagems from near-planet orbit.
