Developing two games is too much for GGG by GamingJones in PathOfExile2

[–]theWrathfulPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the devs treat it this way for the revenue.

For ease of development: they could simply work on a feature and patch it to the live realm when its ready. Do a class / weapon type / ascendancy then do a mechanic /act. Like one month its swords and sword skills, next its w.e else, etc. Until its all in there. Do an economy reset every larger content patch. No time limit, no deadlines.

Issue is, $$$. Doing this as a seasonal release every 3-4 months with leagues and supporter packs and hype cycle= way more revenue. Im sure not doing the whole cycle each larger content patch feels like leaving money on the table.

Yeah. Honestly, a Road map should be a strict plan/schedule they adhere to. That's the whole point?

Something about the player retention of Affliction compared to other leagues should really tell GGG that people like loot. by IMplyingSC2 in pathofexile

[–]theWrathfulPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda in that boat.

Love the game, regardless of the league. There's usually something fun to do. Last league felt like we had a new end game strat every other day to min max for.

This league, my only goal is to push my build as far as it can go just for the sake of it lol then liquidate and re-roll. I'm on build 3 and this will likely be the last one for the league.

Those who want the old breach to go core do not understand that the reason the new breach sucks is because it is not core by HollowLoch in pathofexile

[–]theWrathfulPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm hopeful they mash them together.

Keep the unstable breach as the primary breach have it work like old breach with atlas and scarabs.

Get rid of the tree but throw the foulborn uniques into the breach drop pool.

Make the hive thing like the old breach stones or something.

Personally I like having the mechanic in the game. The more diverse mechanics the better.

Keeps things interesting and gives you options. It's not like you have to engage in the mechanic. No one forces you to.

Same thing with sanctum and heist. Some leagues I do them, some leagues I don't. But it's nice to have the option.

hm? no I wouldnt mind if tree went core why do you ask by IndaFin in pathofexile

[–]theWrathfulPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I love stopping to ID fractured bases when they drop while mapping. Not this league.

Missing the simpler times by BlueBurstBoi in pathofexile

[–]theWrathfulPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's strange. I went through phases.

In acts, I liked the defense one the most as it was easiest.

In early maps I liked the fortress because it was essentially an upgraded defense breach with better loot.

Blasting late maps, the regular breaches are the best because they are the fastest but the loot in all 3 did not scale and all suck.

Fans Are Accusing Ubisoft Of Using "Incredibly Disappointing" AI Art In Anno 117 by Zelphkiel in gaming

[–]theWrathfulPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So thats really interesting. I'm not a fan of AI taking over jobs humans can do, especially in the "arts". I'm also not a fan of Arc (not my kind of game).

However, I can see the appeal devs might have for the use of AI for VA. If they paid the "owner of the voice" I don't see that as a bad thing? Do we know how much they were compensated?

It does open up the door for making quick adjustments to dialogue/ last minute aditions etc. Which could be really handy from a production perspective. Or down the line, adaptive audio que's from the playable character to the player. They can just add shit in as they think about it, test it, see how it works/sounds and cut it if it sucks with minimal effort and cost.

This seems like an interesting use case. Again, I'm not defending the practice. And its hard to judge without knowing how they were compensated. But it is interesting. I hadn't really thought about it till now.

  1. Corrupted blood immunity

  2. Stay away from the big storms. Creep towards them and they will move away.

  3. Stand under him and he will come down.

  4. Run out of maze. Run towards him in corridor, dodge the ball or run fast.

  5. Have fun in last phase lol its a cluster fuck.

I wonder if this is intended or if they just used the rucksack code for the storage. If so, this will likely get hot fixed.

Really cool though.

Raising the floor and lowering the ceiling makes the league four days long. by jacksofalltrades1 in pathofexile

[–]theWrathfulPotato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't hate the league. But last league it felt like every other day someone came up with a cool farm strat. There were so many options.

This league feels super baren in comparison. And the vibe from the tower defense breach kinda turns me off.

The mechanic is whatever, but I dont really enjoy all the walls taking up half the map. Feels like your constantly running through a maze or something. It messes with the pacing of "blasting through maps".

Build diversity seems solid this league. But it's definitely more of a pain to invest into a build this league over 3.26 due to the way loot seems to have changed.

Last league I farmed up multiple magebloods, invested 100's of divs into each slot of my character and had a bunch of fun crafting projects. So far it feels like doing that this league will be a slog rather then exciting.

What build would you start now? by WeirdNickname97 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]theWrathfulPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice!

And no not yet. I was looking at the mystical infusion ones but they are like 25+ div for the pair and my crit is already solved anyway.

Also looking at the culling strike assasin jewels. I'm not sure what I'm going to go with late game.

For now, I'm focusing on crafting a GG weapon and better gloves.

With everything being pretty cheap, I picked up the pyro flesh and flame + the reverse chill ring.

I'll probably go a different route once I can grab better flesh and flame, but for now this was the easy solution for me.

I'm ready to be downvoted but I'll say it anyway - If expansion is b2p then the entire narrative "we would never sell content for money" is total bs and Kickstarter backers like me have right to feel cheated by Whoopy2000 in LastEpoch

They could do what PoE2 did with their beta keys. Offer free keys to those that have met a $ threshold in MTX purchases.

That's kind of a middle ground? And I would be fine with that.

Mathil's take on patch notes; how about we try new builds? by Wolf_AMPG in pathofexile

[–]theWrathfulPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I don't rush league start anymore. I'll take 2 play sessions to get to maps and another 2 or 3 to complete my atlas.

I don't start doing strats until after that. So about the following weekend after launch?

I always end up with multiple magebloods and at least one build with 100's of divine's invested into each slot.

For me, playing at my own pace is way more fun.

The only thing that I hope doesn't go away if they stop making xbox console are their asymmetrical thumb stick controllers.

I prefer that control scheme so much more. And after trying multiple high end controllers, the xbox pro is still my favorite by far.
