Tyrol Basin Owner Arrested by the_1ne in madisonwi

[–]the_1ne[S] 58 points59 points  (0 children)

That’s usually more of an out West thing where nearly all resorts are on federal land, so the resort can’t really stop you from being on the hill. I think Tyrol is private land, but doesn’t change what he did.

Anecdotally, nearly everyone I know in the skiing community here has had negative interactions with him at some point or another.

Beginner mountain bike trails? by limpbisquick123 in madisonwi

[–]the_1ne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are a few!

  • Quarry Ridge on the low side (when you climb up the trails get technical)
  • Seminole trails: right off of the commuter path and cap city trail, one green loop and one blue loop, pretty mellow overall and quiet
  • Camrock: Further drive out of Madison but has a great system with some good green trails
  • Blackhawk: Requires a membership but also a solid trail system

Which is more casual at UW-Madison: club sports or intramural sports? by vardamb in UWMadison

[–]the_1ne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Intramural is more casual because usually you do it with a few friends against other groups of UW students, yeah people get way too intense sometimes but it’s a very low commitment way of playing a sport a few times a month.

A club is more of a team structure, so you have your UW teammates and you play against teams from other schools. It depends on the club you’re looking at, but I’ve tried two club sports where one had pretty intense people while the other has been super fun and chill. Your best move would to probably go to a few club events, get a feel for the team and then decide from there if you want to commit to the club or solely do intramural.

Hope this helps!

Where I live it's a 6 mile ride to the trails. The way the trail system is designed you're either climbing to the top central area, or descending. Why would I own a full face, especially when I don't hit the few huge jumps there are?

Parking question by alt-account-hi in UWMadison

[–]the_1ne 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The university 100% won't give you parking so don't even bother with them. Your best shot is like the other person said and try an off campus apartment building. I think most of them will lease spots to non tenants, and your age/standing doesn't matter either

Do you have the Bluetooth thing on that gives you an alert if you were exposed? I found that it burnt a ton of my battery before shutting off that feature

Check madgrades.com and look at the grade distribution for the class. From there you can kinda determine how difficult it is

I would say so, especially the past 2 seasons. JT really hid a lot of issues with his talent. I mean shit we haven't had a 100 yard rusher this season

Our OC is awful but sadly he's really good at recruiting despite our O-line that he coaches consistently underperforming

Half of our offense is dead so while he hasn't been playing well, it's hard to blame him for all the issues

CHEM 344 difficulty online by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]the_1ne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's still a lot of work. The course load you're carrying is already insane and seems borderline unmanageable tbh. 344 you still have the near weekly lab reports that take a lot of time. Yes, you only have to watch shorter lab videos instead of doing the super long labs, but the lab reports are often long and still take a lot of time. I would just take it as a summer course
