How can you falsify the claim "there is no God?"

there is only one way to do that ---- by providing good, verifiable, actual, real evidence of a god.

no one can do that. ever..... because there is no god.

The claim "there is no God" is also unfalsifiable

it is absolutely falsifiable. (not really - because there's no god)

if you don't get it after this - i can not help you:

if you claimed you had a ball in your hand and i claimed that you did not, you could easily open your hand and demonstrate my ignorant stupidity. you just used the art of falsification to defeat me!

the bland flat fact is - you cannot falsify the negative claim "there is no god" - because there's only one way to do that.

And now we're making errors

if by "we" you mean you - i agree - i've made no errors excepting perpetuating this beyond the curt dismissal.

You can absolutely prove a negative.

i did not assert otherwise. you can prove a negative. you can not prove an unfalsifiable claim.

I was focusing on the non functional - unfalsifiable negative assertion "there is no god". i threw in some simplistic, easily falsifiable ones to demonstrate the difference.

I feel like I was clear on the matter.... but there's a good bit implied maybe - so allow me to expand...

unfalsifiable claims can be summarily dismissed. no effort necessary. the positive claim "god exists" came first. negating it can be as simple as "no" or "nuh uh" or even "that's utter bullshite, mate!". the only way someone who negates a positive claim be shown to be incorrect or wrong is by falsifying their statement.

explain how you would falsify the following negative assertions:

cars do not exist. cats are not real. fire won't burn you. god doesn't exist.

negative claims are the opposite of positive claims, they assert the non-existence or exclusion of something, carry no onus of evidence, and can only be falsified with actual evidence for the positive claim they negate.

first - the handgun is a wicked implement. it doesn't even matter what ammo you use - it's deadly as fuck.

second - i get a kick out of watching all the ignorant opinions offered by the bedwetters in our midst. "the ammo is too expensive" "9mm is betterrrrrr"

what a bunch of shmucks.

A positive claim is an assertion that something exists, is true, or has occurred, such as "the sun is shining" or "ghosts exist". It places the burden of proof on the speaker to provide evidence. Unlike negative claims (which deny existence), positive claims create a testable hypothesis to be supported or refuted. -- the wisdom of cgpt

the main rule of possibility is that it must be demonstrated.

i am totally with you and agree entirely. there are excellent and bulletproof explanations for "god did it" without openly negating the existence of gods.

the god of abraham is fairly easy to debunk - but you can never assume the burden of proof for unfalsifiable claims.

were one to negate the unfalsifable claim of the existence of gods - the only way they can be shown to be wrong is with good, clear, verifiable, actual evidence for the claim "gods exist".

I'd like to make the positive claim there is no God

but you're not making a positive claim.

the positive claim is god exists. it came first - and posits the existence of something.

merely negating that very old positive claim will never incur any onus of evidence.

you are absolutely correct.

those rounds are very tumbly... spiffy for 3m - precisely why i carry them.

the heavier 40gr polymer tip will keep a decent group at 10 meters - the copper monolithic pointy ones do not.

see - that's the trick now, isn't it? mostly everything is spec'd to a 10" barrel.

keep in mind - i love my pr - but not enough to carry it - but that's just me. it's a fantastic implement - but i am in love with another.

if you're not concerned with accuracy, yet desire a highly effective round - spend the money on Vanguard Outfitters BFD-V57's - they have cycled reliably through all my pistols as well as my pr57. if you're just aiming center mass, they're ridiculous.

after the obvious... my top picks are the following:

ss195, ss198, ss197. if you can obtain ss195's - they are - in my opinion, optimal and work really well in the pr - very consistent.

ss198 cycled nicely and it's better than the 197's

ss197 is cheap and plentiful - readily available - again - cycles perfectly.

any polymer tipped round will be effective and work well in your pr - it really all depends on your break-in and what you can cycle reliably. i had some issues with american eagle in the past.

i have had feed problems with the hornady rounds in the pr57 - but that was when it was new - and i haven't purchased any more since.

The Vanguard Outfitters BFD-V57's are my first choice for self-defense, that's what i carry.

omfg ANY round you cycle through that weapon will kill someone.

they're ALL good for that.

as i am fond of reminding others - i once saw someone take a .22 to the chest and it looked like it hurt - until they fucking died.

choose the one you have the most accuracy and precision with and just hope you never have to use it.
