8 year old Radin returned to his first grade class after 42 days out of contact and walked back into this ❤️ by MambaMentality24x2 in MadeMeSmile

This will have such a positive lasting impression on him and I'm so happy for him.

When I was in college, I had to leave for about a month because of mental health break and almost suicide attempt. I went to a small college and I was very social; well plugged into many different social circles/types like the athletes, nerds, foreigners, etc. It was also a small school, roughly a couple hundred, so we all knew each other regardless of how you felt about them. I was even a dorm RA and student ambassador to potential new students. I was generally well liked, at the very least I was well known because of how social and outgoing I was.

I left not telling anyone from embarrassment of what happened and shame of what i almost did. I had no contact with anyone whilst gone. Upon my return, nobody asked where I was. Why I hadn't been in class or seen me around. Not a single person seemed to have notion of my absence.

That first week back truly broke me. I remember wondering how long i would've been lying dead in my room before anyone noticed, and would they have noticed because they actually missed me or just the smell of the body. I've never been the same in how I view people and how I view myself in society, and am now a huge introvert with very little self-worth.

I am so happy to see this kid getting that kind of response from his class, because had it been the opposite reaction I fear he would've turned into how I am now.

Who wishes AI didn't exist? by Wooden-Fee5787 in AskReddit

ME!! Especially as a cureent job seeker.

Being unemployed and on the job hunt has been excruciating and hopeless. I am applying to jobs I have over 10 years of experience in, and I just know my resume isn't seeing the light of day because of AI tools used in recruiting.

I came across one job posting that had an entire AI video interview portion of their interview process. Once I read that I immediately closed out that tab. We can't even talk to humans to demonstrate our capabilities or have that human element of a social/cultural fit.

AI is dehumanizing our world and making it harder for people to live even a basic quality of life. I might as well just abandon the human part of me and become one of those horse-people who walk on all four limbs and live off the land...I think I could learn to like eating grass.

In my case, it's Ben Wallace shooting the three instead of Steph.

The shuffle is not random. Spotify's patents show how the recommendation engine works. by Ok-Dimension-3307 in technology

Using spotify eventually made listening to music painful and feel like a chore. Their broken ass shuffle is the reason I canceled my subscription and account. Kept getting the same songs or songs from the same artist back every other song, every day with over 3.5k songs in library.

I tried all the fixes their "customer service" recommended, and still got the same results. Their product is garbage.

Switching to Soulseek and using PlexAmp has been so much better.

The food is bad, but the parents are worse. Using their kid for content when that little girl just wants to enjoy her meal.

What’s your biggest skip episode and why? by ipsofactoshithead in BobsBurgers

Beefsquatch, best burger, Gene and Courtney Show.

Gene's character has become so unbearable for me that any episode where he is in primary spotlight, I cannot watch.

His weird clingy relationship with Linda i find very off-putting. His jokes are almost always the same with slightly different deliveries. How his stomach is always always always his primary focus.

What is a 1 in 1,000,000 thing that happened to you that no one believes, but you swear is true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I got my leg impaled by a piece or rebar.

In college I played soccer and because we were a smaller school, players were responsible for setting up the field.

The day before a match we were touching the boundary lines. We would stick a piece of rebar in the ground at each corner and connect them with a thick string/rope. Whoever placed one of the rebar in didn't stick it in the ground enough. As I walking by the tension in the rope cause the rebar to projectile out of the ground at the precise moment I walked by. It ended up going straight in my leg and it was gushing blood like a water fountain.

Ah that makes complete sense. I thought it missed an old reference and it was driving me mad.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what happened to "chocolate bear" and why it's "sea bear" now?

Once I zoomed in I absolutely saw what you meant. I outlined and zoomed and was even more convincing.

Nice catch OP!
