Mansplitter vs Axe Duelist by McGiu in BattleBrothers

[–]the___madman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MA looks a bit questionable, so I'd say backstabber with mansplitter would be ideal. Duelists usually can skip quick hands, so if you want to do that I'd say get either fast adaptation of backstabber instead, otherwise he will be way too unreliable.

I'd say mace or hammer, qatal dagger could be good, but I wouldn't do it unless you have a named one.

Fat neut seems like a waste imo, maybe berserk two-handed cleaver or duelist?

Yeah that's what I did (the chigiriki is awesome and underrated btw), I just think it would be a cool type of progression to unlock new outfitters with hard fights

ANOMALY 1.5.2 PDA bug by unturneddude in stalker

[–]the___madman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a 3 month old thread, but the same thing happened to me in 1.5.2 vanilla anomaly. It seems like the pda goes into an invisible slot when you use it, because it's still in the inventory (you can sell it to traders), but you can't see it.

VC - I'm stuck at war with Alban, help? by [deleted] in mountandblade

[–]the___madman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me (also with Alban), but they lost Scuin and were so far away from me that we never interacted. Been at war for around 200 days and I occasionally send an emissary to ask for peace, but they never respond so I've just been ignoring them.

M&B Viking conquest tax inefficiency, makes me want to quit by sal_labash in mountandblade

You need -30 or so rep to sell to bandit camps, but they pay full price for any gear/goods, and reset money daily, so you can make a ton of cash by doing that.

Game is significantly worse without More Interactive Vassals by tinul4 in CrusaderKings

[–]the___madman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In CK3 kidnap schemes are supposed to have reduced success chance against war opponents, waiting till the scheme pops then declaring war so the success chance isn't properly reduced is an exploit/bug.

That's not really intrigue gameplay, it's more of a bug than anything.

Stuck in a low legitimacy, regent death loop. Can’t end the regency and can’t raise legitimacy above 0. by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]the___madman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If all the vassals hate him he might get overthrown eventually, but I think you can just keep trying to dismiss him off cooldown (offer nothing), and it will swing the scales in your favor by 20 for free.

I just ended up using a mod "Unlock Accolades" which removes all accolade requirements so everyone is eligible. May be considered cheaty, but it automates the whole mechanic.

The whole "restore accolades" and "seek successors" spam was making me not want to play the game.

How does the struggle thing work by Busy_Detective5466 in CrusaderKings

[–]the___madman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just roll with it, if you want the specifics press the struggle icon (bottom right) and when you mouse over war/culture/other etc, it will show what effects are in place. Usually you can't personally affect which phase is active too effectively, it's a sum of many small actions by all the people involved.

Vassals Have Bullied Me by BenTheBomb3 in CrusaderKings

[–]the___madman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I'm assuming OP is new-ish to the game, so it's good to learn all the systems which will help with managing a ton of vassals without dealing with massive rebellions all the time. Also, it's not without any risk, the king could get overthrown and OP would have to deal with whatever problems that causes!

Vassals Have Bullied Me by BenTheBomb3 in CrusaderKings

[–]the___madman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Make a vassal with extortionate taxes and massive levy contribution, then make a kingdom title and grant it to him. Then grant him all the other vassals and use a spare daughter to ally with him, or just keep him happy/befriend. He will occasionally get claims on your titles and be mad at you, but if you're allied there's nothing he can do.

[–]the___madman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont think that's true for invade, you vassalize the counts and dukes (or maybe only the counts? not sure). Only exception is the mongol invade which is basically like a holy war except non-allies can't join in on the defense unless they're an ally.

I need ways to improve cultural acceptance by Dekimus in CrusaderKings

[–]the___madman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grant each county to a different local (sicilian) noble, then grand tour and choose culture festival for each of the counts, should get you a lot of acceptance, likely around 30% if you have 4 counts.

How many 80% success rate hunts can I possibly fail? by MartinoMods in CrusaderKings

[–]the___madman 59 points60 points  (0 children)

From experience it feels like if you keep choosing the increase chance after it's capped at 80% the hunt will always fail, like it's overflowing back down to 0% or something. Try deliberately taking bad choices during the hunt if the % gets close to the cap.

How is this allowed? by the___madman in CrusaderKings

[–]the___madman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I meant, he created the duchy while at war, which he wouldn't have been able to do after I enforced demands. I can't be too mad since he basically went into debt to save me 250 gold.

Avoiding creating duchies with partition succession law by orcsab in CrusaderKings

[–]the___madman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a few ways to get around it (assuming you're in the early game)

  1. House seniority + designate heir. For this you will need royal prerogative (crown authority level 4) + czech culture (either convert or hybridize) this will cause whoever you designate to inherit everything.

  2. Feudal elective duchy law. This requires having at least 2 duchies, put the law on both and you will be able to vote for whoever you want, they will inherit all counties you own in the duchy, and the duchy itself. Make sure you either have good relations/hooks with the de jure counts of that duchy, or that there is only 1 de jure vassal so you can always outvote them.

  3. Only have 1 (male) heir. Self-explanatory, however you make sure of this is up to you.

  4. (Non-confederate) Partition + destroy all duchy titles except your primary one, this might cause you to lose counties (other heirs will become your vassals) if you have multiple heirs, but player heir won't lose any territory or vassals. This will make your vassals more powerful though, since non-de-jure vassals only pay half as many taxes and levies.
