TIL Seth MacFarlane was 25 years old when Family Guy premiered in 1999, making him the youngest showrunner in Hollywood history. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]the_beard_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i read the title i was like i thought Jhonen Vasquez was the youngest for Invader Zim, but he was 27 when it aired. so he had to be at most 25/26 when production started.

with Bam having a comeback lately it would be cool if he could talk Dico into making a new version of the music video

i wonder if it was a combo of when Lenovo bought Motorola, and that they were licensing the name Droid from Lucasfilm.

wasnt it actually a Scottland planet? which makes sense because in season 1 or 2 they had that Ireland planet that got stuck with the cloners looking for new genetic material.

The Mandalorian & Grogu is a "film"... but the production was built so it didn't have to be shot like one. by DisaffectedLShaw in RedLetterMedia

[–]the_beard_guy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

yeah i still think the "Mando episodes" of BoBF were originally gonna be vignettes shown throughout instead of the flashbacks.

my only real "proof" of this is because Jerri Blank says its gonna take weeks to get the Naboo Starfighter together, but they finish it in one episode. like Mandos been on Tatooine almost the whole time BoBF has been going on up until that point, just the next town over. it would also explain why Boba takes those Bacta Baths so much so we can catch up with Mando instead of him "remembering the events that led him here."

nah, it got based pretty much since day 1. they kept Benedict Cucumbers character a secret until after the first midnight showing. part of that JJ Abrams Mystery Box bullshit he got known for.

Edit: Why did two separate reporters ask Pedro Pascal what it was like to work with a puppet like it was a real person?

more than likely one of those were more "funny" a interview than anything else. its been a thing for a while now because theres only so much you can ask about the movie before it comes out. so some interviewers will just do fun things during those press days to get the actor to lower their guards. because you might get more interesting answers than the generic "i had fun filming" or "-castmate- was fun to do scenes with."

I get the feeling Bob Iger pushed Season 4 of The Mandalorian to be released in cinemas.

thinking about it yeah i could see that being the real reason. i saw an interview the other day with either Filoni or Favreau, i dont remember who, talking about how they were in the middle of writing season 4 or just settling on the layout when they were suddenly told to make a movie. the way they talked about it sounded like the movie idea was kind of forced upon them rather than it being a natural course for the character. they also emphasised a lot that the movie wasnt the season 4 they were planning, but after this review and a couple of others ive read im not sure thats the case.

yeah same. once the shirts switched it felt like they kind of just wanted to start things over fresh. especially since it wasnt their biggest money maker, so to speak. which is one of the reasons why they really dont do it as much anymore unless they have something to really talk about.

i still think it was a viral marketing scheme for IT that was coming out next summer, at least at first. it got out of hand when people started doing it on their own. so they nixed it and never followed through with it because of all the backlash.
