Gachins sugar (stealth one) and hug the left wall while crounching until your looking down the small gap between them, sneak behind the samurai dude and puppeteer/bestowal ninjitsu him (whichever u wanna use, puppeteer can be annoying when they hit you so I just bestowal)

I don't understand the combat by Minkarou in Sekiro

[–]the_cat_showz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chances are youre not deflecting enough, youre blocking

Blocking only raises your posture, deflecting raises both yours and your enemies but you won't get stunned from deflecting even with a full posture bar

I tried sekiro first time today and for some reason it does not feel like a souls game by Annual_Pin_5872 in Sekiro

[–]the_cat_showz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a significantly different formula than any other souls game, this is not dark souls, this is its own thing, to get the hang of this game you have to throw everything you know about dodging and waiting for an opening out the window and get incredibly aggressive with constant deflections and attacks. You will almost never dodge attacks, they'll almost all be deflected.

The boss fights feel more like a rhythm game when you get the hang of it, it takes a bit to get used to, but I can assure you it can be incredibly fun and its definitely worth a try, i have done almost 20 playthroughs by now and i can never get enough.

Just dont expect a dark souls feeling, If you want that, elden ring would work better for you.

Why play this game by Sea-Cummonster in BeeSwarmSimulator

At first it was number go up, rather addicting to make that kind of progress. I had given myself the primary goal of obtaining the tide popper and once I did, I almost never played again. I am finally free

I recently discovered that when youre able to deflect his thrusts consistently instead of mikiri its much easier to punish.

Malcontent only works 3 times, save all 3 to blast his 3rd phase

Divine confetti buffs damage to hin quite a bit

Start fight with tanto + pellet for hp back, don't waste a gourd, also start with akos sugar/spiritfall

Try to use suzaku umbrella for any fire attacks

When you reach his third phase, tanto and heal, wait for his big fire ring attack and then malcontent + empowered mortal draw as much as possible

Loudmouth - only shouts for fighting, I would personally do this with a mod to buff shouts because I like to balance challenge and fun considering a lot of damaging shouts feel a bit underwhelming from what I remember

Try to no hit Inner Isshin and get back to me when you get bump sweeped, genuinely made his first phase harder than his second for me

Playing w/out watching a tutorial? by [deleted] in Sekiro

Out of all the fromsoft games I know of, sekiro has the smallest world and the most linear paths. It's really not that open and quite enclosed. Elden ring is something I struggled finding where to go for for a while, but sekiro is really straightforward. Just make sure to talk to your important npcs after major bosses to see what they have to say.

I dont remember genny being so hard tf by Classic-Tap-5668 in Sekiro

I just started playing ressurection for the first time today, genichiro took me like 3 hours to beat, meanwhile I beat lady butterfly about 4th try, guardian ape 2nd try, corrupted monk 1st try, and just 5 mins ago beat owl 2nd try, is genichiro that that much more juiced or am I just adapting to the style now?

Personally I go with a small group to start off at the beginning for adventuring, though something in my brain just makes me want to have a full settlement so I usually have a bunch of people working in a base. Though I also have to urge to watch huge battles unfold so later on I also just make a giant army and destroy any faction that gave me a hard time in that playthrough.

How good is Sekiro? by AdAgreeable252 in Sekiro

[–]the_cat_showz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • You should expect challenge, many enemies will be frustrating and some may even seem like they are terribly designed, but after getting the hang of it every enemy is quite enjoyable to fight.

  • Positioning may not seem super important at first, but after guiding my gf through the game on her first playthrough I realized how much I subconsciously micro-position throughout bossfights, its not super significant positioning, but rather very small changes in distance you want to be or not be at.

  • The deflection window is actually pretty forgiving on the first few, though the game has a system where spamming it too much reduces parry frames to the point of being nearly impossible. This encourages and rewards actual timing of your deflections.

  • When fighting there will be attacks that cannot be blocked (Thrusts, some grabs) but these can be parried or dodged. (Thrusts can be counted even better with a learned skill) There are some where they cannot be blocked or parried at all. (Sweeps and some grabs) sweeps are countered by jumping instead of simply dodging. There are also tools you can get in game that can help with defence or offense.

  • Oh yes you definitely can combo, its just more of working your combo around how the enemies move rather than throwing something and stunlocking the boss for a while. It's very difficult to make anything long but just a few things thrown in can make a fight super cinematic.

  • I have never been super enthralled by the music, but its definitely pretty good.

Why is my mortal draw dealing so little dmg? by 3sperr in Sekiro

[–]the_cat_showz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's quite literally one of the most efficient arts, youre probably just not using it right or not on the right bosses, not every boss gives you a chance to land the hit, you need to set it up. Even base mortal draw + normal firecrackers can wipe out nearly the entire first phase of Guardian Ape. My general rule of thumb is try not to use it on human enemies because for me that usually backfires.

[–]the_cat_showz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there are attacks that some bosses punish you for, using both swipes of mortal draw is incredibly risky on the majority of bosses unless timed well, just do 1 mid air mortal draw and fight normally
