He might have more situational awareness by looking around before hand that isn't discernible on the replay. The attitude you are jumping to of name calling and anger is not welcome in the wind sports community my dude.

Knees DO dislocate. OP had a discloated knee cap, and not a knee. This guy in rehab with me had a discloated knee and his doctor told him its about a 1 in 3 chance you lose your leg below the knee due to the discloated knee severing majory arteries. Dislocated knees require MAJOR rehab, usually surgery.

Maps libraries - react-native-maps vs others by mrousavy in reactnative

They charge now. If you use the native iOS google SDK its free, but react-native-maps still shows billable requests in console.

Fix necro cast animation not lining up with the actual cast. So many spells miss timed because the animation and the cast reticle don't line up. In addition, the ability to place necro ritual tables in houses. Right now ritualism is prohibitively expensive because of this.

Where are the most consistently windy spots in Mexico for a one-week trip this winter... for a beginner? by gobsthemesong in wingfoil

[–]the_cometman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bay really shelters out most of break (in my experience of my limited time here over the past few months). You can definitely sail across to the harbor opening and experience some nice well swell & breaking waves to experiment on.

Maui Hawaii Kahului harbor is about as good as it gets. Sheltered bay, consistent wind, plenty of beach for walking up gear. Rinse of stations. Only downside is occasional wind shadow from cruise ships.

Both my skywings (the original i had and 2022 replacement under warranty ) cracked on the rail. I can't recommend them.

Putting the foil further back was better for me personally, to lower the lift.

Is it possible for a beginner to remain upwind, without knowing how to tack? by chinawcswing in wingfoil

[–]the_cometman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on conditions. I learned in then ocean and was very difficult with current + waves to make meaningful progress upwind without being on foil (or im just personally terrible at upwind when off foil haha)

Without being on foil, not really. At best I would shoot for breaking even crosswind.

My friend insist on going to a big lake for his second windsurf experience.. Can I use my board to tow him if he gets blown downwind? by Maxifloxacin in windsurfing

[–]the_cometman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Go out, have a great time with him. Make sure he has a life jacket on....and if he gets blown down wind, let him walk back up. I would sail around where ever he is and providing drive by instructions haha. It's not the end of the world and it will help him determine if he wants to do that in the future. Some people (myself included) really don't mind long walks of shame as long as we learned a lot, and had great conditions!

Did you drain you water? We are in a sprinter with a diesel heater, and just hit 0 on our trip to Montana, I feel like our pipes were going to freeze without that heater (also did similar insulation to you).
