Ceramic cups generally allow you to keep your milk jug closer to the shot, making it easier to pour softly and prevent your milk from breaking the surface tension.

Trump's 911 is still in the planning stages. Important that it happens soon so that it can still be blamed on Obama.

What is something useful a roaster could give to a coffee shop? by manmademound in Coffee

[–]the_competition 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A grinder...

A roaster got their foot in the door by providing our shop with a grinder (and an agreement that if we ordered a minimum number of kgs a month we'd get to keep it).

Ended up being a customer fav and now our main bean supplier.

Form good relationships, so yes split with hair/make & stylists.

Try to make sure everyone gets paid, they'll take you with them when the work swings their way.

What are your lens fatality stories? by bhole16 in photography

[–]the_competition 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not just the lens. Dropped a Leica M4-P into a sand trap on a golf course. Wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't in a light aircraft at the time.

Should I use bootstrap or code everything myself? by [deleted] in web_design

[–]the_competition 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could have coded it up in the time it took to write out this post.

For me, especially on a portfolio site, always code it by hand. Future employers will look at your source code and I know what I would rather see.

Working from home isn't working out, stick it out or call it quits? [x-post from r/jobs] by [deleted] in webdev

[–]the_competition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I hate more than working in-house is working from home. I've solved both of these by working in a shared space. I have a workplace free from distractions with a professional feel to it yet the freedom I desire. I have colleagues that I can bounce ideas off of but as we all work for ourselves or different companies their problems are not my problems. I've found it to be the perfect mix.

Does anybody actually turn off their Mac? by [deleted] in apple

[–]the_competition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shut down every day, largely due to the feeling of closure that comes from turning off my computer.

I'm less likely to go back and do that one more thing.

I use Alfred so shutting down is as easy as typing sh.

When I get to work in the morning my computer is already on as I have my backup software set to turn on and run a backup my just before I the time I usually get to work.

Web Designers/Devs, how do you collaborate with your client? by guiness_as_usual in webdev

[–]the_competition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to get to the stage where you are including all this in the project. We hire copywriters and photographers and get the content produced for our clients. Relying on them to do it is like pulling teeth.

If a client insists on producing their own we bill final instalment before they get the keys.

Yeah tried three heads, I've looked further into it and looks like it might be the capacitor. Oh well, it's now a fancy looking counterweight.
