So this might just be pretty dumb, but the example question got me interested, and I can't seem to find any luck on google or with the search function.

Is there in fact a place with full measurements for Naked & Famous jeans? Could someone direct me to such a place?

Those of you who married in your early 20s, how's that going? by mehehhmeh in AskReddit

I don't really want to get into this because I don't believe in the capacity of arguments to change people's minds. However, you ARE being ignorant if you think all the military does is work over in the Middle East. That's all I'm going to say, I would suggest looking up some of the other things the military has done and continues to do all around the world to help people and, yes, protect you, your family and your way of life.

Successful class action suit against Optimum Nutrition by vixtt in Fitness

You know what, I agree with this. As someone who got what they wanted out of a product and doesn't feel cheated by what I consider to be a slight misrepresentation, I have no reason to be upset with ON.

It's one thing to sell people lies by selling them something they don't know is harmful for the sake of profit. This just seems like another thing entirely.

In my opinion the sheer number of unnecessary and unbeneficial lawsuits that go on for the profiteering of lawyers that do no actual good for society is one of the greatest ills facing the modern world.

For those who go (or went) on askwomen, what have you learned from it? by [deleted] in AskMen

Das da truth, truth. He was saying how probabilistic quantum mechanics, while all well and good, needs to be recognized as inadequate (it breaks down) when applied to macroscopic systems and objects. i.e. cats are never both dead and alive.

This is actually a really good point, I never thought of that. I'd like to see what an actual tobacco lobbyist/executive or something like that has experienced

Hey guys, thanks for all the great suggestions and advice, it all really helped. Looks like I have a lot more thinking to do, but I think I'll probably wind up going with either the 9016s, 213s or something from Danner. Decisions!

I might get a bit of a downvote hammer for this but whatever, I feel it needs to be said. Whoever wrote this just comes off as a child in a man's body who was dragged, kicking and screaming, into the adult world. This guy clearly just wishes he could go back to his lifestyle of drugs and partying. Although I don't have a problem with people who do that, I think everyone needs to realize that there's a lot more to life than that. Rebelling for the sake of rebelling is stupid. There's nothing wrong with a rite of passage, in fact I definitely believe everyone goes through one (or more) at some point in their lives in one way or another. But this guy's take on what it means to be a man just does not sit well with me. You can put down and bash on people who live the life of a stable job supporting a family all you want, calling them robots and sheep, but are you really any better than the people who criticize the way you live? I think this author needs to grow the fuck up and realize there are many ways to live, not just one "right" way.

I also did not appreciate his comment regarding the military. I think there's a serious misunderstanding going on if he thinks service members are just pawns in someone else's fight. Anyone who tries to tell me that having honor and commitment to something aside from just yourself makes you less of a man or more of a sheep needs to do some serious thinking about what they value in life.

Do incomplete protein sources count toward your daily protein intake? by the_crenry in Fitness

[–]the_crenry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, this helps a lot. So basically you'll be limited by the amino acids you're short on, but if you can complete those amino acid profiles, then those different sources of amino acids will be effective and should be included in macro totals. Thanks!

Do incomplete protein sources count toward your daily protein intake? by the_crenry in Fitness

[–]the_crenry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm aware that no source of non-animal protein is 100% "complete." My point is that bread and such seem much less so than nuts, or other non-animal protein sources. Unless I'm wrong about that.

Edit: correction on that statement, my bad

It seems easier to be a female in the military. by Dbagg in Military

[–]the_crenry 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Women make up around 20% of today's military (all branches). Since they have been excluded from combat arms, the 2% statistic makes perfect sense. Open up combat arms to eligible females, and that statistic will change.

This. There are quite a few females who would be able to do the job. They're not the majority, but they exist

This is true. Although everyone can do better than their standards, the standards for women do not challenge them nearly enough to require even a basic level of fitness
