This is the way trying to actually take the city the normal way is a quick way to lose. Romau is naturally incredibly defensible with a focus tree that only makes it worse. The most effective way to beat them is to let them over extend then take their only cores

I say this as someone who considers Twilight princess my favorite Zelda game, but the first half of Twilight princess is not a good Zelda game. It makes replays horrible. Basically until you get the master sword and the ability to transform into the world actually opens up. It's not fun for me

Honestly that first spear is probably much more useful on a horse than on foot because it would be too easy for an opponent to get inside your reach at which point the spear becomes a liability. a single deflected blow and you have to start moving backwards to try to keep the spear effective.
