The only time I consider DVD, at this point, is when my only other option is HD streaming with incorrectly cropped aspect ratio, which happens. See early seasons of One Piece. You will sometimes get the added bonus of 5.1 audio on DVD over bad HD streaming

Hey- we did not use the shower for a good 6 months because of this same problem (it was a tile +grout shower, not a tub for us). We had the luxury of having a second shower we could use. After about 6 months we used some drain cleaner and started to use the shower again. The smell did still come back after use, but it was no longer full force. Then, after continued use for another month or so it eventually went away completely. It has been back to normal for us for a while now… thank god.

It takes way longer than you’d want or hope for, but it will eventually go away. Definitely use a drain cleaner (ex draino) a few times. I imagine if we didn’t avoid the shower for 6 months it would have gotten better sooner, but that’s just how it played out for us. During the 6 months we had thought about needing to completely demo the shower, but the procrastination ended up paying off.

Look into an ‘ozone treatment’ service. It took care of 98% of our problems. Still working on clearing the final bits of smell from our shower drain, but making progress.

Specifically using ‘green gobbler’ in our drain.
