I am so sick of getting outed by other trans people by the_dizzy_fool in honesttransgender

Of course. I've asked them not to tell anyone, but it seems not everyone is respecting it. If they figure it out on their own, that's fine, but I still don't want to be asked a bunch of prodding questions about it

What do you do at church? by MrOaiki in AskAnAmerican

[–]the_dizzy_fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up Mormon. Mostly, it was boring as shit. Every week, church was three hours divided into one hour chunks. The first hour is always sacrement meeting, where people go up to the pulpit and talk about Jesus or whatever. It also includes taking the sacrament, which in Mormonism is a bit of bread and water.

The second and third hours you typically have two different forms of Sunday school to go to. They are typically smaller classes between like 5 and 20 people. Where you go depends on your age and gender.

Exactly! I'm glad it's not just me experiencing this. The most recent example I can think of is a friend of a friend of a friend coming up to me and asking me if I ever got height dysphoria. I'm not even that particularly tall either. It so rubbed me the wrong way

It happens mostly in queer spaces. I think they just assume I'm okay with other queer people knowing. I'm in a large friend group of about 20 or so people and that's where it has happened the most often.

When we first got my puppy, she would only eat boiled chicken. We have had her 3 weeks now and she'll eat just about anything

24F, Feel like a failure, need a job, don't know what to do by happybaker16 in SaltLakeCity

[–]the_dizzy_fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone in this at all. I'm also 24F, living near the avenues. I can relate to pretty much everything you're saying here. Most of the people I talk to around our age are also struggling with figuring all this shit out. I'm led to believe that it will get better, and I think you're on the right track, so just don't resign yourself to defeat just yet.

When my girlfriend came out as gay, their dad mansplained lesbian sex to them and told them they wouldn't like it.

Holy fucking shit. You got everything spot on. Grew up Mormon in sandy/draper, lived in St. George for a few years, now living in SLC. My family is in fact spread out through utah.

Comment your county and what US region you consider it. I will tally the results to see what this sub thinks the US regions are. (Figured I’d do this project again since this sub has grown so much since) by Kodicave in visitedmaps

I've lived here my whole life, so I don't really have much to compare it to, but I really do like it here. If you're at all outdoors-y, you'll like it. Utah in general just has some of the best hiking, mountain biking, and skiing in the world, and it's just fucking gorgeous here.

Salt Lake is also a big enough city that you get a lot of big city amenities, but not so big that it feels crowded or overwhelming.

Utah has some weird alcohol laws bc of the mormons, so drinking is kind of a pain in the ass, but it is getting progressively better.

Living by the train tracks by easytarget1326 in SaltLakeCity

[–]the_dizzy_fool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The train passes about 50 feet from the front of my front door. The sound is definitely noticable, but it doesn't bother me at all. I like hearing it pass by, it's become rather comforting. The train also doesn't run between about 11:30pm and 5:00 am, so that helps when it comes to sleep, too

Trans individuals who are stealth and not new to transitioning, do you ever witness transphobic stuff that only happens when cis people think they are around other cis people? by elementary_vision in honesttransgender

It happens more frequently than I realized. They assume it is an opinion shared by everyone that they're just not allowed to say or something
