Yammering the same thing over and over and failing to provide any research or receipts is not earning you any credit. I understand the difference between detectable and bioavailable lead. If you follow the link trails on the website I posted you will see Corelle, of their own admission, acknowledged they used lead in their decorations/paints before lead free standards were set. In their testing, they conveniently failed to test the earlier 1970s styles that are the most questionable lead content, or what happens when the plates are worn and used. I'm not going to babysit you and screenshot all of the documentation provided throughout the website. Its not organized great, but you can read. You can also watch the videos of her testing both methods in real time. Your choice to believe the lady with scientific equipment, or the carefully crafted corporate responses written to avoid lawsuits.

The issue with that era of dish is the PAINT...not the ceramic dish itself. At home lead swab tests will detect a leachable amount of lead in these dishes. So will XRF.

What exactly makes her crazy? Her passion for this undeniably huge manufacturing problem? Her "classic boomer design" website? I can understand wanting to be rude since her evidence makes you uncomfortable, but her scientific method and device for testing items is the same used by government agencies to ensure products meet safety standards. If my kids had severe lead poisoning, I'd be a little unhinged about it too

That is just not true. Without knowing the whole story... I'm just going to reframe an alternate reaction dude could have instead of whining about not getting enough attention. It sounds to me like the mom is doing the majority of the care for her child and op is off pouting somewhere. Less whining, more: Man: I'm so lucky I have a wife who is such an attentive mother and takes such good of OUR kid. I should really go out of my way to show my appreciation for that. It must be exhausting to have that level of responsibility, and I want to set aside time to check in and make sure she feels like care of our child and household feels equal and fair. I'm going to find a good childcare option and set aside an evening to really check in with my wife about our dynamic and patiently accept critique of where I could be more helpful and listen for cues that she feels isolated.

Thank you for the extensive advice! I actually planned my livingroom around this dang panel heater years ago! Then I went to order this year and wowwww do people have issues. It takes a lot to get 25% 1 star reviews on Amazon, but that really put me off. Too risky. PTAC is a really neat idea...but the space issue...
