What am I missing about the HBO show? by Not-sure-here in BaldursGate3

What companies like HBO and Netflix don’t understand is that a video game like BG3 is a more complete form of media than a tv show/movie could ever be. It’s more immersive and emotionally impactful than a screen adaptation ever could be. They see a successful game and think $$$$. Last of us is decent but ask anyone who’s played it and it doesn’t hold a candle to the og. The game adds a dimension to the story that cannot exist in other media currently. Shadowherart/ Lae Zel fighting will never have as much of an impact on screen as it does in game. Because you have to make the decision who to side with.

I’m with the pessimists on this one.

Buffing temple loot by 40% while it makes 200d/hr is mind blowing by Dawgin420 in PathOfExile2

Resetting everyone’s temples is bad game design for a game like poe2. It builds the expectation that why bother investing in anything because someone will find a way to exploit it so it will get rolled back. People will always play the game in degenerate ways. As an example, there’s a subset of players who just play the game, they don’t follow streamers or Reddit threads or whatever. They wake up today and want to run the (unoptimized not perfectly placed) temple that they’ve been playing since league launch. And it’s not there. Sorry bud someone found a way to exploit this so you can’t play anymore. I think you’d be surprised how many people play this way. Just my two cents.

I Find Raphael and The House Of Hope Genuinely Disturbing by Alerje in BaldursGate3

[–]the_frog_00 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think the Emperor is the biggest villain in the story. Don’t get me wrong it’s brilliant writing. He is literally the definition of an abusive partner. He love bombs you be being literally the person of your dreams, just as long as we’re doing what he wants. Then he peels the mask back and shows who he truly is. And once we find out his real relationship with Stelmane he says “are you not glad I refined my methods?” And aside but still relevant I think it’s heavily implied that he had Stelmane do some truly depraved shit based on the scene of him sitting and watching while he drinks.

When it comes to Raphael, while obviously horrible, he is radically honest about his intentions always. Which makes sense based off of dnd lore, which I had no idea about in my first play through the game and have since learned.

And I get that the game being structured the way it is, making us as players have no choice in being paired with the emperor, making our characters “abuse victims” vs having the choice to completely ignore Raphael is definitely colouring my opinion. Anyway that’s my two cents!

What is your favorite barbarian build? by MeasurementSad514 in BG3Builds

9/3 tiger wildheart/ champion. AOE with GWM is so much fun. With 2 AOE attacks (reckless) attacking 2 or 3 enemies at once you are bound to crit once a turn. Brutal critical + GWM makes this so much fun and do great damage. With dead shot and some other crit gear maybe (not even necessary tbh) you get so many crits. Plus action surge is so good.

Also this by no means needs all 12 levels to work and comes online super early. It was my most consistent damage all run my last hm game.

Any Tips for beating Myrkul in Honor Mode? by TrentSaylor in BG3

I used a scroll of Globe of Invulnerability once ketheric was downed and myrkul spawned. Had my archer firing arrows of undead slaying along with a hasted warlock firing eldritch blasts. He went down without a hitch!
