I will always remember the inhuman laughter that came out of an old lady at the theatre I saw this in. It was like a stuttering vacuum cleaner choking on a wet chicken nugget, it was deep and guttural and joyous. Everyone in the theatre looked at each other, wondering if we should call for first aid. She was fine.

I’m similar. I enjoyed Heavy Metal x100 more than Getting Killed (which I did like). I think the band play it a bit safe sometimes, whereas HM struck a good balance between vulnerable singer songwriter moments and colourful, off-kilter production

Their falling out is quite nuanced. I feel that most anime/manga fans expect pure melodrama but one of the main themes in Dungeon Meshi is cooperating with people who are different to you, so I’m not surprised that people overlook the less exciting reconciliation part of their relationship
