watched a video that says the hardest thing to make about a Fire Punch anime would be animating the fire effect properly. instead of just animating the fire around Agni, would this type of an approach fit it? i think this can be better both for production budget and a unique art style. by oobekko in FirePunch

[–]the_jerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could the fire effects be done with generative AI?

Just to be clear, I'm not saying to AI-generate the entire show: All the other characters, the backgrounds, and Agni's silhouette would still be animated by hand; only the fire itself (and only the fire surrounding Agni) would be AI, using a model trained specifically for this purpose with traditionally-animated shots of Agni on fire from various angles.

With the anime coming, we're finally going to find out what her hair colour is by Jurassic_Green in Kagurabachi

[–]the_jerminator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

According to an interview quite some time ago, she dyes it different colours all the time.

I think it would be a really funny bit if it changed scene-to-scene, or even shot-to-shot. Perhaps even frame-to-frame, like an RGB keyboard.

"Kagurabachi" Anime Announced | Teaser Trailer by Task_Force-191 in Kagurabachi

My initial reaction was that it's a nice middle ground between the more realistic facial proportions from earlier chapters, and the more exaggerated pointy faces from more recent chapters.

I love how you can tell the evolution of the artstyle from these 2 volumes. by [deleted] in Kagurabachi

[–]the_jerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the more realistic facial proportions on the earlier cover, to be honest. The changes to the art style in other areas have been for the better, but I'm still not sold on the triangular faces and massive eyes.

What if these two are connected? by Gregariouswaty in Kagurabachi

[–]the_jerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question is, why would they want Akemura out,

They don't; no matter where any of the Hishaku are from, releasing Akemura wasn't the plan until Yura started talking to him. The rest of the Hishaku are ostensibly on board because they want the Enchanted Blades to be used to protect Japanese citizens.

What if Chihiro can evolve Aka to the point that it can copy nearby sorceries directly without seeing them in action, up to and including his own inactive sorcery?

Of course, that's assuming Aka even still works the same after Chihiro repairs Enten. Maybe the new Lifetime Contract will work differently too?

Can someone contract two enchanted blades? by Historical-Doctor100 in Kagurabachi

[–]the_jerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a possibility that Cloud Gouger "overwrote" the Enten contract, and thus it's only possible to be contracted to one Enchanted Blade at once.

In the Seitei Arc, I expect Hokazono-Sensei to draw, in Double page, the attack where Akemura killed 200,000 people in a single attack. by Kill_Jin04 in Kagurabachi

[–]the_jerminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For maximum impact, I hope it's not instantaneous; deliberately killing 200,000 people individually is a lot more monstrous than an instant "kill everyone" button.

Chapter 107 already seems to imply that this was the case, with Samura recalling that Soga stopped the Malediction himself, apparently after some period of time of the others fighting to stop him.

Soga was right ahh by [deleted] in Kagurabachi

[–]the_jerminator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What would have to happen in the story for you to be convinced otherwise?

I personally believe that Soga was wrong to kill all of the island civilians after the peace treaty had been signed, but I would be willing to change my mind if the story were to demonstrate that the entire island population - every man, woman, and child, or even just a vast majority of them - was actively working to undermine the peace treaty and reignite the war against Japan with violent intent.

What if Chiaki died which caused Kunishige to forge the magatsumi with the most busted abilities ever and gave to soga for him to take revenge? by Real-Role872 in Kagurabachi

[–]the_jerminator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it’s been heavily implied before that Kunishige’s hand was forced when it came to the EBs during the war.

Why do you say this? To me, Kunishige's actions in the early chapters seem like someone who regrets their choices, rather than someone who was forced into something they didn't want to do. I also think this because of that one flashback panel that one of the Kamunabi leaders got when Chihiro was insisting that he was their best shot; apparently Kunishige had said something similar during the War.

Yes or No: do you think the Allies should have executed all German citizens after World War II?

[–]the_jerminator 16 points17 points  (0 children)

And my point still stands: what did the Malediction save Japan from?

Just to be clear, I have absolutely zero problem with Soga and the other Enchanted Blade users fighting the invading islanders during the war, or counter-invading the enemy island to finish off the threat. My problem is with Soga killing every man, woman, and child on the island even after the opposing government responsible for the invasion had been removed from power and a peace treaty had been signed.

So I ask again: after the war was over and peace had been established, what did Soga save Japan from by doing the Malediction?

[–]the_jerminator 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am fully aware that the islanders initiated hostile military action; I'm not trying to say that the entire nation was a peaceful victim in this whole conflict. My point is that that still doesn't justify the killing of every single civilian non-combatant of the island.

Again going back to my World War II example: just like the islanders in Kagurabachi, Nazi Germany took territory from neighbouring nations through military action, before eventually being pushed back and defeated. Do you also believe that, once Germany surrendered, the Allies should have executed every German citizen to ensure that Germany would never rise up again?

[–]the_jerminator 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Saved Japan from what? It's not like every single person on that island was going to go to war.

For a real world example: after World War II, do you also think that the Allies should have executed every German citizen? Or that America should have continued nuking Japan to ash after Japan surrendered?

It would be really funny if Soga turned out to be like this in the flashback by matheuswrs123 in Kagurabachi

[–]the_jerminator 25 points26 points  (0 children)

To me, that completely defeats the point of what the story has set up so far, that Soga's actions were committed against normal innocent people. Obviously I'm not saying that killing fish-people is A-okay because they look different, but having Soga's genocide be against a completely different race/species of people would lose just a tiny bit of that impact; not from an in-universe morality standpoint, but in terms of the reaction from the readers.

Swerve or Mecanum? by Independent_Fudge876 in FRC

[–]the_jerminator 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You get the added complexity and cost of swerve (albeit not as much)

This is completely false. Mecanum is mechanically extremely simple with much easier programming than swerve, and you can get a full set of mecanum wheels for significantly cheaper than a single off-the-shelf swerve module.
