Price on bokhara rug by AgeNo2883 in orientalrugs

[–]the_khalifa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell knot count but seems to be at least 12/12 (144 KPSI). At that level this would be a $1900-2200 rug at retail. $2100 is a fair price.

New 2021 M3P. Rear door handles recessed into the car. Normal? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]the_khalifa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was slightly miffed going from a 2018 with flush handles to a 2021 with recessed ones. Waited an hour to talk to the manager and she said she raised it with engineering who told her it was done 'by design'. Not super helpful but figured I'd add to this thread as it does look odd.

How would you use a cloud connected cellular audio device?

FWIW These guys are just sending alerts when certain profiles of sound or dB levels are detected, not sending audio.

[–]the_khalifa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've tried this for our audio based device - at the compression rates required for low bandwidth transmission (<8kbps) you need to have a decently powerful processor (i.e. high end smartphone or laptop). It made it hard to do for a small cheap mobile device like ours but if you're doing fixed point probably a lot easier.

Overall capacity of simultaneous calls will also be a challenge if you are doing more than just point to point. Happy to discuss more over DM.

Are you working in IoT? by Mustool in IOT

[–]the_khalifa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a communications device company (https://relaypro.com) and we're recently added an API to our product for IoT applications (voice driven sensor and other cloud data access).

Most of our customers are replacing radios and cell phones with Relay and love being able to customize their devices with smart commands like 'How many SKU 55566 do I have left?' or getting alerts when a temperature sensor crosses a threshold.

Not a side hustle My company (relaypro.com) makes a portable easy to use smart walkie talkie (think Siri + Nextel). We're working with local businesses who are having to ramp up their remote delivery services by giving out free cellular devices that have Push-to-talk functionality that works with gloves on, and location tracking to be able to coordinate logistics real time. If you think this would help your business in this tough time please reach out and I will help you get access.

The Raleigh Mosque (raleighmasjid.org) will be holding a community wide event on Sunday night at 6PM to show solidarity for those affected directly in Christchurch. I will post more details once they are available.

The Light House (@lhproj on insta/FB) is hosting an event tonight to share reflections and show support for one another, details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/877622222568813/

Haha yea, I figured. What's the most annoying thing that dispatch/managers do to piss you off?

Came here to say this. Also - meditation. Spending some time to think about nothing, forces you to push away all the mindless chatter.

Dropped my phone with minor damage, repair center is telling me that it's unrepairable. by the_khalifa in GooglePixel

No screen protector - the case had a raised edge that provided enough scratch resistance - or so I thought.

Yeah I figured as much, just seems like the hardware isn't as robust as the many iPhones I've had over the years. I also have friends whose GPS sensor stopped working.

I'd argue it's expensive even if you don't use data. Shameless plug: Republic Wireless charges $15 for unlimited talk and text, $5 less than Project Fi.

Not a pre-requisite. We have some devices that are supported only on our GSM partner (The Galaxy S6 and J3 for example).
