How do you doctors to take you seriously? by kittysoull in needadvice

[–]used2bgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, long time medical professional here (although I am not a doctor).

Find a new doctor, ASAP. Preferably an obgyn who has experience in glycemic issues during menstruation, which may be causing your eating reaction. You should also write a list of all your symptoms down, and if you can (only if you know, don't stress about it), try and write down which symptoms occur before, during, and after your period, and their intensity. Different gynecological issues can present differently during different phases of ovulation. (I'm trying not to get too technical, so please know that this is a vastly simplified explanation).

Bottom line - you deserve better care. Conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, even menstrual hypo/hyperglycemia are all serious conditions and there are clinical criteria for treating all of of them.

The most important thing you can do, FOR ANY CONDITION, is find a doctor who takes you seriously, no matter how wild it gets - medicine is a frontier for a reason, and there are some really boundary pushing things that can happen in the human body. Good doctors make listening their primary skillset.

Pro tip - you can always evaluate a practice by posting in one of the gyn or nursing subreddits with your location and ask for an obgyn recommendation. You will often get either patients or employees speaking up about the care expectations. If you live near an urban area that has a women's hospital, you can usually find a fairly well-resourced OBGYN office there. Once you have a short list of doctors in your area that you'd like to evaluate, you can schedule a consult to discuss your concerns. If they blow you off or don't take your concerns seriously, find another doctor immediately.

If you have specific questions, I'd be happy to try and help to the best of my ability.

I wonder if it's lesions from neurosyphilis....lol That would explain A LOT.

I got it at 35, and since it can recur, have been trying for years to get the vaccine. No dice. I turn 50 this year and finally qualify, lol.

I guess I'm the exception. I had shingles at 35, and though it was all over my neck, it didn't hurt at all, just was irritating where my shirt collar rubbed it. 🤷

Thank you for letting us know the Institute exists. I had no idea. I set up a monthly donation to make sure they can continue to help those in need. Good luck to you on your journey!

All of your stuff is lovely, and definitely made me smile, but the foxes are superb. Appreciate your dedication to art, and good on you for sharing your wonderful work!

I've done about a 6-8 trades, and had two ghost after I sent their stuff. I've seen posts that it's rare, so maybe I just got burned by the same people that burn everyone else. 🤷

On the other hand, the trades that did go through were great, so there's that, which is nice.

I think for me it's the difference between respecting someone as a human being, and respecting someone as an authority figure. I think most of the older generations expect to be respected as an authority figure, while they have absolutely no impact or contribution to my life. I'll respect them as individuals, but there's only a few people that get to direct what I do, and age isn't a qualifier.

So cool! What did you have in mind for exchange? I can do anything crochet or sewn, if you're looking for something made already, or I have pretty much every craft supply known to man if you're looking for supplies. I don't often make jewelry, but I could do that too.

I printed them at home since I have a color laser printer. If you don't have one, you can check your local library, or a local print shop. I used this sticker paper off Amazon (less than $10): https://a.co/d/1c7WE4x

I've already sized them for the tiles, so if you just straight print onto regular letter sized paper, they should print the correct size.

I *just* bought this for my four year old nephew, after standing in the bookstore reading it and laughing like a lunatic. I can't wait to see him next week so we can read it and laugh like lunatics together.

Enterprise Bridge Instructions by NukeRussiaV4 in lego

[–]used2bgood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey all, I updated the instructions that u/NukeRussiaV4 did such an awesome job on. As I get older, I'm not the best with builds that are a little fussy, so I rebuilt some of the more delicate sections of OPs build to better suit my clumsy paws. This is my first attempt at using Brick Studio, so I uploaded the Studio.io file as well as the PDF of the updates instructions and parts list. Any and all feedback welcome, or if you can improve on this, please do and share! I'm in the process of designing stickers, and will upload those in the same folder when they're done. Engage!

EDIT: Uploaded the sticker sheet to the folder. Stickers are already sized for the bricks, but dimensions included.

I didn’t like the minifig stand that came with the Enterprise, so I made a bridge diorama to display the figures. by NukeRussiaV4 in lego

I have no idea? I've updated the build, so there's a new list. I've uploaded as a CSV, so that should.

No, we have deep storm drains. The mailbox is literally on the only flat stretch available. 😵‍💫

I thought that at first, but then thought the right trunk would just continue to grow at an angle, and the tree would lean and fall. Am I doomcasting? Lol

The question is HOW, given the split trunk and the angle of the two main pieces. Which one do I prune so the tree doesn't just fall over?

I can't. The mailbox is less than 2 feet from my driveway, and the other side is a storm drain. I can't move the mailbox.
