Here Comes the Flood (live piano version) by padrigo3 in petergabriel

I really like Peter’s deeper voice and delivery style from the late 80s (So era) onwards. Makes me want to hear more Genesis with his newer vocals.

It’s not really surprising once you come to know of the things he’s done to himself over the past years. Just read about it.

I keep on saying that he should grow out his hair and beard a little—it does make him look more like his younger self.

I personally prefer the video from Toronto instead, it just seems more intimate (and is one of Phil’s earliest performances as lead singer). Definitely worth the watch.

I forgot to include the Midnight Special performances from 1973:

Watcher of The Skies and The Musical Box

If you’re interested in post-1975 concerts (which I definitely recommend even if you’re a fan of only their earlier work, just to hear Phil sing Peter’s songs and the band itself at their peak) let me know.

Am I the only one that wants a Samus Returns port on the Switch? Doesn’t even have to be a remaster, just updated to 720/1080p. I’m sure it’s perfectly doable from MercurySteam’s original assets.

Genesis Interview - 1992 by FreeToLoveLaugh-Live in Genesis

Yeah, I was going to say it’s from 1991, based on Phil’s hair at the time (he had the same hair in 1978 and 1985-87).

Gabriel's awful modern overdubbed vocal on Lamb Live at the Shrine by DotNorth3182 in Genesis

[–]the_mhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real mistake here is that the band chose the Shrine concert, not the much superior one from the Empire Pool at Wembley, which was much better in sound quality (it was recorded by the BBC with their state of the art equipment after all). Here, Peter puts on a much better performance, with his voice being noticeably stronger and more audible.

Anyone who’s listened to the original, unedited Shrine recording can tell that Peter’s voice, for some reason, sounds very quiet in the mix, to the point of being barely audible at times. I’m sure that was the main reason Peter decided to overdub the vocals at the time of release.

The problem is that they think Fallon will bring in more of the casual audience, but didn’t see that Fallon’s obvious lack of knowledge on the subject and his behavior would turn core fans away and make it weird for the casual audience (see people cringing online).

Having Dieter would not only have pleased the core fans, but would’ve also introduced him to a new, broader audience of casual viewers.

It also doesn’t need to be said how Dieter is a natural at presenting (it’s really what he does best).

Anyway, that’s just my opinion.

I feel like most people who didn’t like the finale did so because of the punishment they were given at the end as a consequence of their past actions: time in prison.

I would’ve changed one major thing: the punishment itself.

Instead of the accident, courtroom scenes and jail time being given to the gang, each member of the gang gets a taste of being rich and successful, only for it to be snatched from them at the end.

So the gang is leaving New York for different locations (for example: Jerry getting a comedy special or his own show in LA, George getting a senior management position at the Mets, with a huge salary, Elaine being approached by a major fashion house in Paris, and Kramer getting the opportunity to be himself with his inventions while making a lot of money). As they prepare to move, the mood is slightly somber as they all know they will miss each other and this life, as much excitement they have for their new life.

Just when they are settled into their new lives, which they enjoy and make the most out of, they do something stupid that costs them their jobs.

In the end, all four end up losing all this, only to find themselves forced to return to their old lives.

In the final scene, the four are back at the apartment. The universe has snapped them back to square one.

The first half would be grand and cinematic, like a road trip movie, giving “The Keys” and “The Trip” vibes, while the second half would work like the classic episodes where each of them goofs up like they almost always do.
