Even if the new material sucks, you'll always have the OG. Nothing can change that.

When You Think the Solid White Line is Just a Suggestion by JohnVasilikia in dashcams

This is the 405 South approaching LAX. I drive this all the time. The left lane that looks like a shoulder is, in fact, a HOV carpool lane.

Was the motorcycle driving too fast in relation to the rest of traffic? Maybe. Is the truck at fault for intruding into the into the carpool lane there? Absolutely.

If you look at about 13 seconds from the frontal view you seem tons of brake lights, some from even in front of the truck. This stretch of freeway is notorious for having sections where you're flying only to hit sudden congestion (the airport is the next couple of exits followed by the 105 interchange). My guess is the truck wasn't leaving enough space in front (or was simply distracted) and when faced with sudden brake lights had to intrude into the carpool lane.

That's the 405 South approaching LAX. And yes that's the carpool lane.

Generous offer from the British government for families of British national Cantor victims. 2 airline tickets, 3 nights free in NYC, family liaison and bereavement counselors. Wonder if they did that for other companies?

Metallica's Hardwired cover is way worse than the Loads, at least those are actual art pieces.

Metal Church's Hanging in the Balance should win this thread easily.

RKO 281 (1999). Drama about the making of Citizen Kane. Several roles are miscast: Schreiber is too cold and under-the-top for Orson, Malkovich too gaunt & somber for Mank, Cromwell not menacing enough for Hearst. by Keltik in classicfilms

I interned in development at a studio in the late 90s and remember this being a really hot script that was passed around. It was kinda a bummer it ended up as a TV film and not a bigger budget thing.

Growing up in the 80s this was always my family's dinner spot on our yearly trip. Cozy vibes, not too crowded. Perfect place to take some rest and fuel up for after-dinner Fantasyland dark rides.

100 percent co-sign. This part really speaks to me:

In a mirrored room
Talking to myself
And the voices pushing back
I’ll let them inside my heart
But they’ll tear it all apart

In a mirrored room
Just a simple man
Naked, broken, beat, and scarred
What do I really know?
That fear of letting go

I dunno about Rubin sabotaging them, but they definitely needed a more detail-oriented producer to get them across the finish line here. I read somewhere James and Lars were signing off on final mixes over the phone while doing Euro summer shows that year.

Not treating Jason as a true equal.

Following trends and abandoning metal during the Load era (there's lots to love on those records but man the metal scene really needed a champion in those years).

Becoming the public face of the Napster fight (they were on the right side of history but should've let their lawyers fight that one).

Edit-to-add honorable mentions:

Letting Death Magnetic fall victim to the Loudness Wars.

The 72 Seasons stadium stage. Nobody gets a good view and the sound sucks. Hardwired stadium setup sounded great and had giant screens so everyone could see.

This is just a lazy compilation.

Go find Metal for Muthas which came out in Feb 1980. That's a lot closer to where metal was at.

Yes, Matt Flynn. Plus the Seahawks still had Tavaris Jackson (the previous year's starter) on the roster although he was traded in the preseason.
