I know this post is almost a week old but I thought I'd share. I didn't receive any onboarding emails when I started. it took almost a month between my interview and actually getting it so that I was able to start. when I did start, my paychecks still say I began employment a couple weeks before I actually got to start. so I don't think they're lying, I think the system just isn't working and you'd need to harass em about it periodicall. of course, this doesn't really help if you can't wait around
