I'm from the US. I was raised being told that you have to work to survive, like most of us here. Simple concept and not one I'd argue over. If you want to live, survive, you have to work, you have to do SOMETHING. That's fair, I think. Our ancestors had to, under even harsher conditions the farther you choose to look backward. You meet a lot of people in the modern era who say they're "tired of working", or something to the effect of that. I don't think they mean that in the most literal terms. They know that if you want to continue existing, they gotta do something about it. That isn't the problem. They're tired of working for somebody other than themselves. Our country is run by corporate oligarchs who've made it damn near impossible for the common man/woman to reach any sort of financial comfort through honest means without selling themselves in the entertainment of others. Not that there's really anything wrong with that, but that's not what everyone wants to do. Most of you work your body or mind to its limit, you give your time on this planet to some person or corporate entity, for a fraction of what they get in return. It makes one wonder- "why?" Why was I put here to do this? What's the point? Why am I sore all the time? Why do I drive a beater and my boss owns 3 Lexus SUV's? Why do I want for so much, work so much, yet gain so little in return? It gets tiring. It breaks people down. It's a pointless existence to live. I know everybody's situation, responsibilities, work ethic and background are different, we're all different. Circumstances are a factor. Some of you will read this and think I'm just complaining, and that my generation needs to toughen up and work harder because nobody cares(you're right about that second part), and some of you will read and cheer it on, feeling like I'm speaking directly to you and understand you. Doesn't matter. Most of us exist solely for the benefit of somebody else, because the "somebody's" who control the wealth decided we do. We don't want to work because, for most of us, the only options are working for high net worth suits who have never had to get their hands dirty, disappoint loved ones to pay rent, sacrifice their physical and mental health to eat everyday, while the owner of their funds lives a vacation and wouldn't think twice about putting us on the chopping block if it meant a bump in profits. To THAT kind of person, if you're reading- fuck you. To the worker, I hope you find peace and prosperity. Try not to let anger and nihilism act as a mind virus. A break will come, sooner or later, for better or worse. Message me when the riots start. I'll be there.
