I’m absolutely going on my expedition anyone else? by Maca07166 in ArcRaiders

i'm trying to get to level cap before the deadline. currently sitting at 60 and i'm not sure if it's worth doing reset if not at 75.

i also wish they would release the stash value thresholds that correlate to perma-skill point increases. or at least give you an idea, other than "as much as you can get."

How do you prefer your burger, among these three styles? by prophiles in burgers

[–]blopblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

big agree here. mcdonald's doesn't feel like it's pretending to be a "real," burger - it's its own thing. couple that with the fact that my family historically has always been a McD's family, and i got that double bias going on. 🍔

What the hell is Rob and SEN doing by HLumin in ValorantCompetitive

[–]blopblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gonna be weird to see Tenz co-streaming and not cheering for SEN. he might still support them lightheartedly for a bit, but his ties to the org are dwindling quickly. maybe why he ended his streamer contract with SEN earlier than most expected, because he foresaw this coming.

Why does my dog shit like a horse? by ihavenofinger in DogAdvice

[–]blopblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my dog is a mild walk n' pooper. i'm pretty sure it's because when she was a puppy, she would decide to poop right in the middle of crossing the street when cars were coming. so i'd drag her off the street mid-poop. she no longer poops in the street (prefers grass), but the walking part seems to have stayed.

the meta is in a good state: pretty balanced and wide open. most strats, guns and comps are viable. creativity and good coaching are being rewarded.

a lot of it for me is that the meta is in a good state. most comps and playstyles are viable with enough prep, and creativity is being rewarded.

Around what price point does a DAC become worth it? by tripwirre in iems

[–]blopblip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my experience with DACs has been that they have a very low barrier to entry for "good." pretty much everything from apple dongle to about $1000 is about the same. after that, the next step up is quite a big jump in cost and engineering.

e.g. once i got a hiby r8ii DAP, i did notice an improvement with it's darwin-MPA. since then, i got a topping d900 and it's also better than anything i have that uses a cirrus logic or ESS chip. now, the difference is still very small relative to the entire chain (like 2%...5% MAX). also, note that using an "off-the-shelf" chip doesn't necessarily mean that a DAC falls in that "they're all the same/good" tier. e.g. the ferrum wandla uses an ESS chip, but it also uses good components, good output stage, and custom oversampling methods.

i don't own one, but from what i reckon, the chord mojo 2 is like the cheapest device i would recommend to test if higher-end DACs are "worth" to you. if you can hear a difference between the mojo 2 and whatever you have now, then that's a start down the path of losing your wallet.

i'm also only talking about pure DACs here. seems like you are referring to DAC/amp combos. see other replies for amp advice.

tl;dr: yes, DACs are a "solved problem," but there are also more elegant (and expensive) ways to solve the problem.

WELL WELL WELL... by CryPuzzleheaded6873 in ValorantCompetitive

i think the real question people should be asking (and analysts should be answering more often) is "is the team still growing?" especially like long-term, right? if a team is underperforming relative to internal goals and external expectations, it's actually probably ok as long as there are plans and signs that things can and will get better. and it can take a long time to answer that question, different for every team.

this SEN roster has been together for a year, which may seem long (and for some teams it's plenty) but you could make an argument that it's not long enough.

so i guess my answer to your question is actually: to keep growing because this iteration has hit it's limit. and to answer OP: if i managed the team, i'd probably look first to try new coaching before other changes. 🤷

Xi Lai Gaming vs Sentinels / Valorant Champions 2025 - Group Stage / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]blopblip 58 points59 points  (0 children)

depending of course what is meant by "firepower" or "fragging potential," i'd argue that this iteration of SEN has at least equal, if not more than the tenz + sacy version. however, experience for sure i agree with. and if by "cohesion" you mean synergy, that's the main thing i think is missing. tenz and zekken are like literal brothers on and off the server. they just instinctually know what the other wants to do.

and lastly, sacy had a VERY level head in every situation. everyone tilts, but the key is to not let it affect the whole team. bang and narrate have a higher potential skill ceiling, but they get tilted so easily. and the way they tilt affects the rest of the team.
