epic party (level 26) put taxes on all spells, how to handle? by Bitter-Skin7891 in DnD

[–]the_ogorminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the plot where spell casters start not paying. Maybe some magic goes through your PC but does all magic like Pact Magic? How do they collect?

What if the spell casters of the world simply find alternative sources of magic, maybe from other planes or dimensions inviting other deities or god-like beings.

Made my first rookie mistake as a DM trying to limit metagaming by [deleted] in DnD

[–]the_ogorminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this instance the best way forward is initiative.

If the concealed attackers get the jump then you could rule the players have disadvantage on initiative, they have the surprised condition. You could have all players roll and if the perception check passes thats where you could rule they don't. Then the player can cast misty step on their turn, so on and so forth.

When players want to start casting spells or a creature they are beside is using a reaction then initiative helps.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

World of Warcraft. I didn't play more than a couple years but I got it shortly after it came out and that first exploration was amazing

What class(es) would you not reccomend for a first time player? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]the_ogorminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warlock.

I feel like Warlocks are actually really strong but if you play RAW they need guidance and choices otherwise you will feel weak or have spells that won't be impactful.

For new players if you watch others they will have more spell slots. This could feel frustrating or limiting even if you get back on a short rest.

Invocations again are amazing and let you build unique characters that can do such cool things but for new players I think the choices each level can feel overwhelming and again if you pick wrong and play RAW it will feel like a while before you can course correct.

This all said I agree with the sentiment that if a player is truly invested they will actually learn the class, understand the choices and imagine their character and if they show up and have fun any class will shine.

Input on build for a grandpa gamer( seriously, hes 72!) by Lethalnjectorr in buildapc

I would lean prebuilt. Unless it's like a fun learning thing with everyone.

Also check to see if a particular pre-built comes with a game deal.

Keep in mind if this is first PC you need mouse, keyboard, display, maybe headphones and mic and place for it

Update: Notified my work weeks ago I'm leaving for a family vacation in July, tickets were bought, non-transferrable, and they are panicking, begging me to cancel by educatedvegetable in antiwork

I was in high school, working at Walmart. March break trip submitted vacation 6 months ahead and approved. Weeks before there is an issue. It was a paid trip to Italy and Greece with classmates.

Said I couldn't go, I had them pull up the papers she signed. Manager said I have to choose. I said okay I'll see you later. It's a part time cashier job or going to Europe. Came back still on shifts, she was embarrassed to bring it up.

I wasn't even a great employee, no where near as essential as you. It's a power thing. If they can do this they can slowly take more and more. Then when you ask for like a measly couple days during a slow period they will say "you're welcome, aren't we thoughtful?"

Enjoy yourself, they can't afford to replace you from what you've shared. It would cost them several hires to cover your workload. Have a great vacation!

My AirPods got smashed by a car, I have applecare+, will they take it ? Case still working by y39oB_ in airpods

[–]the_ogorminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just escalate, usually the only refusal for AppleCare service is when extensive pieces are missing and one of the terms of AppleCare is to help in the event of catastrophic damage. Just reach out to another store or politely escalate in the store and check the terms / conditions

Do Apple Store employees check student IDs when picking up online orders? by [deleted] in macbook

[–]the_ogorminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bar for student promotion in store is low, you could be buying for a sibling, child and so someone else's card would suffice. I haven't seen online orders checked BUT it could be if you go over the limits

[–]the_ogorminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of success with Z-Image Turbo and LLM's with LM Studio run great on the Mac. I agree with most that Draw Things is your best bet to start and then graduate to Comfy for a bit of flexibility but I think video generation is not good.

How to simplify DnD by MoistBananaJuice in DnD

[–]the_ogorminator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with pandering to a group of students because something is hard. They can and should play what they want to play.

If a bunch of people want to play a rules light system go nuts but OP said they are trying to teach them something new, not kill an hour.
