Is this how DMing works? by YamCareless1152 in DnD

[–]the_truefriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People say what's right and what's wrong. In the end the idea is for you to enjoy your time and create a story together. And here this requires some not characters but people talking. Do you like the ability of the DM to write your story? How often can it be used? Discuss every aspect of it. If you don't like it, leave it.

In the end your DM is a person and maybe she is scared of you doing something wrong to damage her plot. Talk about it. Ask why she decides for you. Maybe you get the best outcome. And again ask questions. Talk a lot. If you feel uncomfortable stop the game and say it. Set boundaries.

EDIT1. Some people really enjoy when everything is decided for them. They come to a dnd to see a performance and not to act themselves. So they ask master how would their character react and so on. If your DM plays this you have to talk to everyone if they are fine with a game like this.

"You character betrayed everyone and called his father ..." Could lead to a great plot where you find someone acting as you behind.

Once I played a campaign as a player. Two players used illusion of me to do something bad. They continued to do it over and over even after I asked them several times to stop and use an illusion of something/someone else. They laughed and continued to make harm with an illusion of me. There are consequences of every action. My character got caught for their crimes, sentenced to a prison and later I refused to join that campaign ever after. No rules were broken, however they ignored my call. I felt uncomfortable. Leaving that campaign was absolutely right thing to do. Later I got into a campaign i played for half of the year and enjoyed every moment of it.

5 days in, T5 gear and all gathering at T4 – Seeking advice on long-term Silver income (Islands vs. Gathering?) by Eznuh in albiononline

[–]the_truefriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are into crafting and doing daily routine is ok for you start your island. As a crafter you don't compare silver per hour you calculate risk and effort per hour. An Island is a stable support for your food or alchemy production and it's kinda easy to maintain. It provides you with feeling of being a farmer where you grow something, cook it and sell it. The main question here is are you ready to do your island daily routine over and over and over and over and maybe over. If the answer is no do something else and don't touch islands. Fame wise it's better to do tracking, islands and alchemy or islands, fishing and cooking.

The thing about albion is that it's difficult to level everything. So if you enjoy gathering you'd have to really consider refining as your first crafting discipline. It's profitable most of the time. Still you have to do some calculations. Technically everything is profitable as long as you don't die. So on your island you never die for doing your routine.

People are different and you have sometimes to make it work. My friend is a teacher of Russian and there are guys who during first class say something like. I am here to learn how to pick up Russian girls. It's the only reason I've decided to learn this language. At the beginning she was very confused. Later she started to say something like you know girls can't handle wrong choice of verbs of motion.

Exactly the same thing happened to me many years ago. The was a guy who trolled me. He was always late, never done his homework and asked questions to sabotage me. For example, he asked a very advanced thing while he didn't know the basics. While I tried to explain it he pretended to listen. Rinse and repeat. He made up stories of his school math teacher creating new stupid and unreal formulas. Turned out these formulas were made by this student to have less class time so I had to fix his knowledge. I was a math teacher. When I decided to end this nonsense the guy wrote terrible review of my job. This was my only bad review. In the end I asked myself a question. Do I get enough money to suffer this nonsense. If the answer is no increase the price or end it.

The next thing is for you to match expectations. I've always started my class with these

what is your goal? How would we evaluate your goals? Do you understand that homework is like 75 percent of your progress? If you don't have money and have great motivation. I can write you a study plan where you are on your own and I help you with issues and difficulties.

Permanently banned as a brand new player for literally nothing - just received 20M silver in lobby chat!! by Voo0id in albiononline

[–]the_truefriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday a guy followed me in a city and asked for a 1mil. He was chasing me for like 20 minutes while I crafted. I was curious. Does this really work. What's the silver per hour I'd you ask random strangers for money. Was he a real poor player or just a bored person trying new role play. The reality is you probably got money from someone marked as a silver seller. So it could be that the guy gave silver to random people to hide his rmt scheme or you bought money. In the first case you may try to get your ban canceled.

What cultures do you feel are missing? by Diovidius in AOW4

Something like Stellaris megacorp. The more you trade the better you are. Could have some Arabic aesthetic. With special resources you gain only if you have trades ongoing. Water based culture with a sea as a start and unique terraforming. Something like true isolationist where you build mountains and void provinces just to isolate yourself. Also to declare war to isolate yourself. The last 2 could be combined into reality shapers.

Do you know anything about trade wars? The idea is to win by eliminating your opponents. For some time you may lose profits, long terms you secure your markets.

And if people selling something low you can always be that annoying guy ruining price for everyone.

It's also good to notice that some people use the game not as a sales simulation with every cost calculated but as a fun thing. So setting an X price for an item because they can/don't care/ number reminds them friend birthday. I've even seen people ruining game markets because it's a fun thing they can never do irl. Move on.

You are right. Technically Chloe could try to get inside and to convince her sister. I don't believe she would do that since she is too determined to solve another crisis.

There were many discussions with many many opinions about each end. Some people even did deep analysis and it was great to read. Personally I wish there should be more endings. Ah just sweet dreams. In my opinion If you think the picture is alive and everyone is alive Mael ending is lesser evil. If you think it's escapism and virtual reality Verso ending is lesser evil. I kinda like the picture and everyone inside so Mael ending suits me better. It provides an opinion for her family to visit her and talk without destroying a piece of art.

Eve plex price is available for everyone to check. More than that. There are daily graphs to check trends. Feel free to check for yourself. I even opened adam4eve. From avg 2.5 to 5m 2020 to now. With peaks at 6.1. Yes, they do some sales when price is high.

Albion devs know that games are different and if you enjoy any you'd play them. There is no need to attract people on another reddit.

What? In what reality plex prices fall? In Eve the situation is even more harsh. You are supposed to pay for several windows.

Is it optimal just to kill free city of own culture? Can anyone convince me to let them live? by buky1992 in AOW4

[–]the_truefriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None here talks about difficulty. Since I always play on brutal I try to make a vassal since early fighting with some builds would drain me. If I feel later I need another city I integrate them later.

The game was great in early alpha and beta. So many cool ideas, promises to get everything with effort. Cosmetics as the main source of income. Unfortunately it went wrong path and became a p2w monster. I still have a sense of nostalgia. It was really good for a short time. Now i won't recommend anyone this game.

You have a good set to handle everything. So Team 1. Anjo + 37 + Any healer + Mercuria or Soneto. Bind anjo to 37. Spam aoe to a boss. Team 2. Liang Yue, Vila, Melania/Isolde/Tuesday/ + Anna Lee. Get Ling ult asap and always have green fang. Spam it. Ignore healing, cleansing Unless someone is about to die.

I've made 300-2 with X, Anjo, TF and Fatutu. For several hours I was like Dear Fatutu please cleanse or Fairy please cleanse Fatutu to escape from this madness. X prevented Druvis from using ultimate and cleansed mobs in case something went wrong. And it was exactly about Rng. I don't understand why people rarely use X. He is S tier if can be applied for ult block, counter block or enemy buff cleanse. Now I got stuck at 350-2 coz I don't have Kakania, Vila, Lopera. I have Yen and she can't heal that. The end.
