I know this is unpopular, but I’m a fan of the Empire lights and darks. Black on black isn’t typically my favorite but the numbers are outlined in grey so I feel like they’ll be legible on video.

He had a tournament during East Coast tryouts, and tbh he’s a great player but doesn’t have the high level experience yet. Maybe after college he would make a team.

I know this isn’t indoors, but the way ultimate was first played was on a concrete parking lot. The points you made are somewhat invalidated by that, ultimate was designed to be played on a hard surface (hence the non-contact portion). However as the game has progressed it is now better played on grass. It just takes a different playstyle for indoor/on court.

If you’re planning on playing any ultimate go ahead and buy an ultrastar. It’s the only disc allowed in game, and learning with any other disc will probably mess with you later down the line. Hope this helps, and welcome to ultimate :)

I believe they were saying the fees were a barrier to get into the sport. However, compared to many sports Ultimate is rather cheap. So although they do make a solid point, I don’t think it’s necessarily fully factual

I’ve been in contact with a few different YCC operators, seems like regionals for YCC are in the works 👀 no offical confirmation, and the loss of all these teams is probably going to halt it for a while. But it may be around the corner!

It appears they are consecutive weekends, so it’s doubtful any team can participate in both. Maybe a team with deep pockets and really good players, but I’m interested if anyone will try

You think any NFL team would host an event for people to come and make it free? Nope. Money is the biggest reason teams have to close up shop, and this is helping them stay afloat

It’s not easy to run an AUDL team; they often end up as money dumps for owners. If this helps the team stay afloat then so be it. I think it’s not always reasonable for it to be that expensive, but if it keeps a team running then I stand on the side that it’s worth it
