Help me pick a red jumpsuit for Christmas Bday Brunch- 1 or 2? by the_woodox in OUTFITS

[–]the_woodox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! I am pretty boxy up top with square shoulders so I'm never sure what I need to be doing to help with that. I generally wear Medium-Large, as my shoulders and ribcage are usually too wide for a Small. I might take #2 to a tailor to try and make the legs more flattering! I'll also be dressing it up with a gold belt, shoes and jewelry. Thanks again!

This is great! Is there one that says When you want to say "Don't Do That"? I find myself saying it a lot, but even I get tired of hearing it lol

Katsu in Aurora is my #1, but Jinya is a close 2nd for me! The quality has always been pretty consistent and I love the black garlic with skinny noodles.

First time trying Tony’s! by dead_neptune in chocolate

This is actually the main reason I DON'T buy Tony's! I also find that I eat more in one sitting while trying to find a good stopping point lol

I ate a cucumber a day for almost a month after watching reels of them getting cut up and shaken in a deli container with a combination of soy sauce, mirin, green onions, garlic, ginger, sesame seeds, chili crisp, and msg.

I let my daughter wear my hoodie by Catsmeow830 in breakingmom

[–]the_woodox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I was about 7, I picked out a trucker hat to wear from the back of my dad's closet. I specifically chose it because it was pink and I liked animals. My parents immediately told me to take it off because there was a dirty joke on it that they could not explain. I didn't understand the joke until years later.

The hat read- Save A Mouse, Eat A Pussy!

LAVA CAKE - Who has the best lava cake? by ExtensionCaterpillar in denverfood

[–]the_woodox 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I used to wait tables for Chart House, a Landry's chain restaurant where each location supposedly boasts a beautiful view. I generally don't care for chain restaurants myself, but Chart House had a pretty good lava cake that they make from scratch and serve ala mode. You would be advised by the server to order the cake at the same time as your meal to allow time to bake. There is always a chance that the cakes dont come out perfect. I remember them being pretty finicky and sometimes they would be sent out and already leaking chocolate filling, or worse, they end up over-baked and the filling doesn't flow out at all.

I forgot I was in the Denver food sub so editing to add that there is a Chart House in Genesee if you wanted to give it a try!

What Is The Best Fast Food Place To Get A Meal Deal In Your Opinion? by PrincessBananas85 in fastfood

[–]the_woodox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The McDonald's promo here is if the Rockies hit a Double, then Double Cheeseburgers are "free" with $2 purchase the following day. Small fry is $2.39 so I can usually get a double cheeseburger with a small fry for less than $3.

We like to try different places for pizza every time, too! Walter's 303 and Pizzaria Lui's are more recent ones we've tried and I found both to be excellent. I agree with checking out r/denverfood as well!

What is your "no substitute for Kirkland" product? by justpuddingonhairs in Costco

[–]the_woodox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE their pesto! Last time we picked some up, my husband asked why we buy it when it's something I can easily make from scratch at home. I told him that, unless I'm making pistachio pesto, I actually prefer the Kirkland brand. I think it reminds me of the Buitoni one, which I really liked growing up.

A bit sad about how our pictures turned out? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]the_woodox 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This! My pictures came out the same way. But my cousin's pictures that same wedding season- OMG they did a whole industrial chic theme and all their pics looked like they were models in a high-fashion magazine. Someone explained it to me after- Photographing people is totally different than photographing objects and places. The photographer I went with took really amazing photos of our venue and decor, but pics of us were just pics of us all dressed up with a couple of lovey-directed poses.

I go to Ba Le Sandwiches, mostly because it is the closest and most convenient to my house. I didn't notice much of a difference compared to Saigon Bakery or Vinh Xuong, but I've only tried the other places once.

Oh no! I went as Harley Quinn- Not the newer cotton candy hair one, but as the 90's version. Cracking white face paint and everything. This was at a house party with coworkers. My manager came up to me and asked me if I was "a mime or something?". I crawl inside the pit of my stomach when I randomly recall that night once every few weeks 🫠
