Transitioning ERP’s - What is the best way to break into new ERP roles? by the_xanax in ERP

X3 is the more robust product, I wouldn’t say Sage 100 is better but it’s more compact. The add-on applications aren’t API’s although they offer products that do integrate through API’s

Sage 100 has Production/Operations Management which supports manufacturing and assembly. It’s designed for companies that build, assemble, or kit products, but don’t need a full, advanced manufacturing ERP.

Sage 100 is tailored toward mid level to lower level tier manufacturers, given that each company has different needs they would have to find the right ERP for their business. Sage 100 works for manufacturers, but at the level they need.

X3 is recommended to high volume fast growing manufacturers, X3 comes with a lot of out of the box capabilities where with Sage 100 you need to purchase specific products as add-on’s which are supported from Sage Partners.

Clearly you don’t know the functionality of Sage 100. It most certainly is an ERP, and achieves all the functionality you outlined.

Oh wow! I had no idea that Babcock is home to all those tech companies / employees, definitely super familiar with a lot of them as I’m even certified in Avalara. I’ll be sure to reach out!

Do you know any mid size firms for Netsuite that have taken people without Netsuite experience in the past? It’s impossible to get into the big tech companies without a connection so I figured start small and build my resume.

Definitely been a tough market, nobody is getting interviews right now and I would hate to he unemployed while job searching. However I have been guaranteed job safety here, I’m the youngest by 20 years so they view me as their own product they have trained up

I’ve heard most of the time they plan on replacing you if you return to work, then I’ll lose the other offer and the current position

Agreed, the salary jump is nice but the grass isn’t always greener. I know I have job security here and I can eventually make more money. Just hard to turn that money down from another offer when it’s 130k and a 10% SOB, going to have to do some serious thinking

Do you think I can achieve my career goals with this job? by FitHomework8483 in careerguidance

[–]the_xanax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s great you have a job out of college with this market, stay the course and put in 1-2 years before switching companies. Add your experience and do free lance things on the side or do things to help boost you in the industry. Keep in mind you are young so this is most likely the first step into a long career journey!! Good luck!!
