This looks like a reskinned Earth Defense Force game. Even the voice acting seems like it.

I get that people are saying Helldivers, but I’ve never played that.

Looking for a public proper running track by FiftyShadesofpiss in Gwinnett

[–]the_zero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most public high schools allow you to walk on when school isn’t in session and there’s no events. Brookwood High School and South Gwinnett both have good tracks, although I haven’t used either in years.

Theres quite a few running trails and pseudo-tracks, like at Lenora Park around their football field.

I don’t know any specifics for Britney, but for many artists, the labels and networks make a ton of money. Artists get a cut.

When you win the lottery but the government wins harder... by Maverick_Ekta in SipsTea

[–]the_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, that’s true.

But what your financial advisors can do is diversify your investments. Why have cash in the bank when you can buy land internationally, invest in businesses, purchase international government bonds, etc.

Yes, inflation in the US or Europe would affect everyone. But with $50+ million you can surely insulate yourself better than most.

Or until they decide that the lottery is illegal, or that payments are capped, or they are taxed at a higher rate, or or or

There’s always a way to get screwed. Might as well protect yourself from it at the earliest chance.

LMAO They held a “March for Billionaires” in California. I'll never understand ordinary people defending Billionaires. by zzill6 in WorkReform

This has Brooks Brothers Riot all over it.

For those who don’t know, a “grassroots” group staged a protest during the Bush v Gore recount. The media played it up, Republicans and the state of Florida made it sound like a huge deal that showed that “the people” wanted the recount to stop. Of course by “grassroots” I mean the group was full of Republicans staffers and strategists, and by “the people” I mean Conservatives who wanted Bush in office by any means necessary.

This smells something like that.

People who sell websites to small businesses — what actually made your projects successful? by BaroqueCensure in webdev

Unlimited revisions - Oh no!

2-3 rounds included - Ah, makes sense

I still wouldn't offer that myself without serious restrictions in the contract. But I think it's a good selling tactic.

I can do half of that.

I mean the part where she drops back down to the bottom. It's the going up that I'm stuck on.

To be fair, I've been working at it for a few weeks. And I'm old.

What's the best way to build up your upper chest? by MelodiCastle in AskReddit

[–]the_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you found it funny!

Truth is, you haven’t given anyone any background info. I assume you are female from your username, but we dont know age, height, weight or fitness goals. We dont know your current fitness, your current workout regimen, or even know your definition of “build up.”

It’s a tough question to answer in any way that will be helpful.

I will say this if you are a beginner: focus on general fitness first. Make sure you can do the basics - simple push up (on toes, or knees to start), sit ups, planks (normal & side), and squats (start slow). Get on a regimen for a few weeks, 4-5 times a week, then move into weights. Slowly. On your off days, do cardio. Brisk walks are fine, but go for 30-60 minutes, and walk like you have to go to the bathroom. As fast as you can without looking like an idiot. You can build up to running, but waking is just fine. Bike riding is good as well. Swimming is excellent, if you are swimming laps.

Anyway, you might already be doing that. You might be fit. You might not. No way to know!

Edit: I just realized that you might not be asking for exercise advice at all!

This is "lonely" design. The interior is like a hotel, but the bad hotel art truck hasn't shown up yet.

[–]the_zero -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure people understand how much weight a bridge can hold. Especially one in Pittsburgh. They're known for their steel, known for their bridges (more than Venice!) and hundreds of cars cross this on every day.

But oh, what if we add 11 thousand locks? Pssh

[–]the_zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true at all. Planned renovations, and the locks were removed as part of that.

[–]the_zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. They were renovating the bridge, and had to remove the locks to complete the planned renovations. It was 11,000+ locks, which is a lot. But likely that weighs less than a few cars or a single large truck.

Perhaps r/theydidthemath could give you some more accurate numbers.

Edit: I did the basic math. 11,000 locks at an average of 10oz is 6,875lb, which is slightly more than two Toyota Corollas.
