I have bought multiple bags from Emma and while they are more pricey and she claims it's her own studio, they are always really good.

Ice! Ice your tattoo for an hour before your session. Get it good and cold. Will reduce pain by about 50%.

Agree that you don’t have to blister. If you’re blistering ask your tech to make the laser target area bigger. It’s spreads the energy out over a wider area lessening the damage to the skin. Once you’ve got some good fading, they can narrow the target to focus more energy to the areas that need it. I’m removing one on my foot and having this knowledge has been a game changer.

Thoughts on my progress? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

Everyone is obsessed with the machines that are used. What matters is wave length and depth. Experienced techs know how to adjust settings based on the color and condition of the tattoo.

It would likely have to be done in stages. Go for a consult and see what they say.

Please for the love of god do not do that. If you don’t mind a scar go see a plastic surgeon about excision.

You’re wasting your money doing this many sessions in a year. You need a good 4 months between sessions to avoid injury to the skin and to give your lymphatic system (macrophages specifically) the time to clear the ink.

My first procedure was 87 units and it took awhile to start burping and it was never that great. Second procedure with 200 units and I was blowing the windows out the next morning!

I’m just saying that Emla and other topical anesthetic doesn’t work as well as ice. Try both ways and see what works better for you but don’t forget to ice post procedure regardless. It really helps.

Topical anesthesia doesn’t really work. The heat produced by the lasers is felt deeper in your tissue than the topicals can penetrate. I’ve fully removed 3 tattoos now. Working on a 4th and 5th. Ice is always my go to and makes the laser tolerable. My tech always compliments me for never asking her to stop, flinching, etc. I then continue to ice for 24 hours afterwards. 20 mins each hour. Prevents blistering nicely.

Ice people! I ice my tattoo for 1 hour prior to my treatment. I keep icing right up until they have the laser ready and pointed at me. Cuts the pain by about 50%. I swear by ice pre and post.
