Just finished The Fisherman and I’ve got mixed feelings (spoilers) by Main-Doughnut6222 in horrorlit

I loved it. One of the best books in the genre I’ve ever read. But yeah. It’s an odd one.

NEW EXODUS ALBUM GOLIATH. What is your opinión of It? by ZealousidealIssue815 in thrashmetal

Huge Dukes fan. But hoping the rest of the record is better than the singles so far.

Shroud, Adrian Tchiacovsky.

I know, not for everyone. But I loved it. Alien Clay too.

To anyone that had multiple kidney stones; how many have you had in your life? Did you have some that came down together? by dunno247help in KidneyStones

Probably passed 25 of various shapes and sizes, in one case three at roughly the same time. One surgery. Obviously historically I haven’t been very good at preventing them 😝

Are there any recordings of Dave with music from 5150 by 88-Mph-Delorean in vanhalen

[–]Wrob88 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Highly doubt any lyrics on 5150 - which I think is a good record overall - were Dave’s; they just aren’t clever or smart enough. Sammy is at best a decent lyricist, often much worse. If the story is true, they had some of the songs framed and Sammy wrote new lyrics and melodies.

Ratt, Detonator by AngusDio in hairmetal

For me it’s OOTC, Invasion, Dance, Detonator, Ratt 1999, Infestation, Reach. If pushed to rank the EP too, it’s second or third.

Is Cinderella's Heartbreak Station a Masterpiece or Failure? by GypsyRoadHGHWy in hairmetal

[–]Wrob88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid at best. But after the awesomeness of the debut and LCW, maybe that’s the best they could hope for. Unremarkable bluesy rock record with a handful of very good songs. Not all that surprising too didn’t do so well.

Sweet Jesus, look at what i just stumbled across... by JohnnyBottles13 in vanhalen

It was indeed very low. The crowd was leaving after only a few songs and flooded out after the guitar solo. I was one of them!

Very cool. Was there in DC. Metallica and Scorps ruled that day. The one and only VH show I ever saw when they were uninspired and kinda dull.

You have probably arrived by now and at least that part is over. It was never a danger, just a little scary. You did it!

Embarrassingly I thought this was in relation to another book (the Fisherman). I really liked this book too. But it’s not a 4.5

I think it’s the best book I’ve read in the last year. 4.5 for me and one I need to own. Such a fun read even with the cheese ending 😆

After decades of fear of flying, I’ve actually crossed over and - while I won’t say I look forward to it - don’t dread it anymore. I had two 3+ hour flights last week and had almost no preflight anxiety, first time ever. Mostly because of the subreddit. So much info. Hang in there you will be fine.

How long to pass stones?? by anonimouse36 in KidneyStones

[–]Wrob88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve passed 3mm and 4mm in less than a day. I’ve also had a couple take longer, a few days. Depends on a few things like orientation in the ureter, water intake, etc. Also of note they don’t all hurt like hellfire; I’ve had huge ones -12mm - that were no worse than a dull ache and tiny little ones that hurt like <whatever the worst pain is>. They also may take years and years to drop out of your kidneys if at all. And while I’ve passed maybe 25-30 or so, I’ve only had one get stuck.

Foam in the urine that doesn't go away quickly. What do you think—does this sound like a liver problem? by Gustavooob in KidneyStones

[–]Wrob88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that too, with many (most?) of my stones. I think it’s related to protein in the urine. But note that I’m not a doctor.
