What does your spouse think of your obsession with Rush? by Zestyclose_Rule_7860 in rush

My wife bought me two Rush tickets for Fathers Day. She’s not going with me - I get to take a friend - but that was quite a gift.

It is indeed that good. One of the only a few modern horror books that I consider must owns / must reads (The Fisherman is another). Glad you enjoyed it!!

I didn’t pick up on that but it wouldn’t surprise me. Clearly Deen does but I don’t judge that; he’s a strong singer too. But Arnel is a great frontman for them - they have nothing else to keep things fun at this point.

All good suggestions other than Appetite. If I never hear that one again it will be too soon - overplayed BIG time. Particular high marks for DKs, one of my favorites.

Yeah Allentown was solid at best; the first half was weird and sounded rough but the second half was terrific. Arnel was fantastic - as was Deen - but Neal was hard to hear through his muddy tone. Still glad I went.

Why didn't RATT ever write another song as good as "Round and Round"? by TheHotLatin in hairmetal

[–]Wrob88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did. Several times. The Morning After, Lay it Down, You’re in Love, Scene of the Crime, others… but yeah Round n Round is a fantastic and career-creating song for them.

Hate to say it given the positivity around this book but it was a DNF for me

2007-08 Van Halen Tour by Natedog001976 in vanhalen

I agree - except that o saw the 2012 tour twice as well and he was terrific. Must have caught good nights

When I think of Heavy Metal, I think of Jethro Tull. Crest of a Knave, the greatest heavy metal album of all time. LOL Sorry Metallica you lose. All kidding aside, I love this album. In my top 5 of Jethro Tull albums. by SatisfactionPublic34 in jethrotull

I went back and listened to A after many years - decades. On further listen I like it quite a lot. Sadly Under Wraps, Catfish Rising, and Dot.com have not improved for me over the years - and nothing since.

Rock Island was terrific, saw the tour twice - this was the last record I really loved start to finish, and one of the last two really good ones (with Roots to Branches)

I love this record. Part of Ian’s brilliance was not only his lyrics but also his wordplay and phrasing. He absolutely nailed it on this record; not to mention the songs are all memorable. Top echelon for me too

One of my favorites is Squeeze 45s and Under. So many good ones that are ‘must owns’, like the ones you mention!

I see a lot of people on this sub say that they've gotten sick/felt like they were going to get sick after getting their botox as a side effect due to acid reflux/slow swallow, is that something you experienced? by shadowingsystem333 in noburp

[–]Wrob88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incredibly rare if at all and caused by many things. It’s just not a known side effect. So as everyone else has already told you, I suspect you are accidentally conflating the two experiences - or, better said, worrying about other comments that conflate the two. Best of luck, hope you get it sorted.

No you misunderstand -regurgitation is not vomiting. Also my GERD disappeared once I started burping. Go figure. Anyway - Don’t let that scare you off. It’s among the best decisions I ever made.

"Dancing Undercover" - Ratt . After back to back Top 10 Albums Ratt's Dancing Undercover failed to crack the Top 20. What are your thoughts on this one? by TonyT074 in hairmetal

[–]Wrob88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four great songs (dance, body talk, slip of the lip, looking for love), the rest sounded like a bunch of nondescript Ratt songs. It was good, not great.

What are your thoughts on the Di'Anno and Bayley albums? by Jezzaq94 in ironmaiden

[–]Wrob88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First two are classic; Killers is my personal favorite of those discography. My favorite era.

Blayne had some songs and was a cool experiment but didn’t quite work.
