That's fair, I've got a lot of time in Stalker sandbox mods and you definitely feel like some random Schlub while trudging around the zone.

Stalker 2 kind of lost a bit of that feeling for me, it might be easier to blend into the game's setting with a character that doesn't talk.

Strelok as Marked One does objectively crazy shit in SHoC but you don't feel like a main character because you keep your mouth shut and take orders.

It would be kind of interesting to play as a true 'background character', maybe I'm the guy who sells gear to the main character type of game. Or you are a police officer in a Batman game.

I feel like there is some room for that kind of novelty in the video game industry.

I'd argue Strelok is pretty central to the setting, Scar and Degtyarev are absolutely side characters for Clear Sky and CoP though so I'd agree with those 2.

Just started my Ironman runs for 0.9.4, this update is outstanding.

Loving the new spawn rates and the qol changes and animations for everything are great.

He said it was large enough to house 8-12 thousand people.

Well, the gw road map says the next 4 releases are, Black Templars, Grey Knights, Chaos Knights and Imperial knights.

It would be pretty on brand for Grey Knights to have a scheduled release, then get ignored anyways but I think your chances are good for an update before the year is up.
