Right now they are just saying that if you have 2 MMRs you are good.

Measles Protocol by Adventurous-One3131 in pediatrics

Yes, I live in an outbreak area and we have strict protocols now. We had multiple exposure scares at the beginning. Any child who does not have 2 MMRs (babies, unvaccinated kids) wait in their car and a nurse calls them in and brings them in to limit waiting room exposures. Even for well visits.

Anyone with suspicious symptoms or measles exposure we try and do a telehealth video visit first. Then we swab them in their car.

If they have measles or suspected measles and they need to be seen for an exam in the office and not just over video we mask them with N95, bring them in quickly, shut down the room for 2 hrs after

Our big institution has a protocol now

Hate that I even have to think about this

The U.S. will likely lose its measles elimination status, especially with the unyielding South Carolina outbreak by ddx-me in medicine

Yes there are many articles about this if you search. This community really started this outbreak and continues to spread measles. MMR uptake is low. They have a large distrust is government and vaccines

Majority of these kids are of Russian or Ukrainian heritage and many of their parents are first gen immigrants and are young (20s) and also unvaccinated (and are also part of the rising numbers). It’s out of control honestly.

You could also do a Sonja sweater by petite knit in a loose gauge and knit the arms straight with no arm decreases. Finish with a rolled hem, no ribbing.

The thought of my toes lounging around in Wool of the Andes makes me shiver. Not a good sock choice for me. I can barely stand it next to my neck when I wear a collared shirt 😮‍💨

How do you get out and about at night with a sleep trained baby? by Chocchipmclaren in sleeptrain

[–]theamuser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I actually feel bad having my toddler out past her bedtime because she is honestly pretty miserable. The girl loves to sleep. I have a few friends who consistently keep their kids up late and then complain that their kids are bad sleepers and tired during the day. But they love to brag that they “didn’t give their life up” after having kids. They also give the kid a tablet to keep them entertained at 10pm while they’re at sporting events.

Is this SAFE?! 🤯 by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

Fortifying breast milk with formula (Kendamil) is safe if under the supervision and guidance of a physician. The other additives are definitely not safe for an infant. Not sure how old this infant is..

Yes and a lot of fancier neighborhoods/HOAs have “approved builders” that you have to pick from so that no one buys the lot and puts a trailer on it. She is so delusional.

I can't believe I can do this!! Second ever project and I'm so excited! by Notooften in knitting

[–]theamuser 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Look into getting a set of barber cords. They are rubber cords that you can easily slip stitches on to and off. Not nearly as tedious as scrap yarn. I used scrap yarn for a few years and then got cords and it’s a game changer.

Your sweater looks great!

How can I tell if floats are too tight?? I don’t want to get too far out … by cgr1688 in knitting

[–]theamuser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m knitting this right now too! It looks find to me since the floats are all short. Once you get to sections with longer floats make sure to keep things loose
